I also have a demanding job and time constraints and have a wife and twins that are 18 months old. I am getting good progression and having a blast. If you are having issues with Dungeons you need to research and find a good LS and then you have a good list of homies to pull from and not have to ask total strangers all the time or DF all the time. Yeah you are not going to know everyone on your LS really well but they will be more inclined to help you out if you are a part of their group and you will get to know them over time and probably develope some "usual" parties. Good Luck!!!

Remember too that you can do other things while in the queue, such as filling your hunter log, crafting, gathering, doing some other quests, exploring, etc. Wherever you are, the DF will teleport you into the instance when you get picked by it and confirm that you're ready to go. If you're on a different class, you'll probably be asked to change to your previously selected class first but you get about a minute to do that from when it pops up inviting you in. There's no need to waste time standing around the dungeon entrance if you have other things to do in the game.

That is true! There are many things that can be done while waiting for DF. You can look into crafting, which IMO, takes up most of the idle time in-between. Also, read the shout in the region, there will always be someone LFM or LFG. Getting into a Free Company will also help in finding groups, but do remember to research or ask them of their play style.

Perhaps you shouldn't judge the game or the wait times in the duty finder too harshly just yet. A large part of the population is currently unable to even log into the servers. Once new character and login restrictions are lifted, I would anticipate a decrease in the amount of time it takes for you to form a group via the duty finder.

In the meantime, I might suggest that you try to form your own party either via your LS/FC or through /shout in one of the city-states.

Honestly once people know what they are doing in dungeons I have seen them go as quick as 15 mins. As a 30 SCH and WHM I have instant ques. I'm also leveling a tank on the same character at the moment and will be more than happy to take people through dungeons; even the lower ones :P If you happen to be on Balmung, playing a DPS and need help please message me; my tank is only lvl 15 atm but won't stay that low for long.

OMG!!! When I see people post threads like this i want to teleport into their workplace and drop kick them. This is an MMORPG, i think people like you are why mmos are so damn easy these days to begin with, getting to max level on a real MMO should be utterly impossible solo. It is supposed to be a game that forces you to take the time to meet with others and plan tactics to get to the next part of the storyline. To be honest the only part i agree with your post is the duty finder thing, it's actually a handicap for these anti social people and people who have no time to spend hours in an mmo (like you) and to be honest, this mentality does not belong in online rpgs. I hate to be mean (not really) but you and everyone like you need to play solo console games because your type entering into the mmo world has created games like this and swtor and such where you can play for a few hours here and there and still get to max level with ease >_>

**edit** and what i meant by utterly impossible solo is at least on your first character (assuming you didn't utilize gold spammers) you shouldn't be able to reach max level by yourself, obviously if you've had a character get max the first time you'd have the ability to get good gears and such...but point being that with people going around pissed that there are dungeons which require more than an hour of their time to get through these are exactly the people ruining the "MMO Experience" that many of us wish for because the damn devs gotta make the game catered to those who can only play like 30 minutes >_< I actually work full time 8-5pm monday through friday and you know what, if a game existed that required 6 hours a day to get through it in a timely manner and i could only make real progress on weekends then fuck I would still play as long as the game made me feel accomplished even if it took years to get max level and I mean that literally.

Not all games need to be for casual players. Go play a game for casuals.... We no lifers need games too... sheesh. You casuals are like the overly religious or sports nuts, thinking everything in the world has to format to your specific needs, and ideas of what is fun, or matters.

I'm a DPS and I never had to wait more than a minute for a queue.
Oh right, my other party member is a tank ( ఠ‿ఠ ).

OP, you're a Gladiator, that means you're a tank and should not have wait times...I've never had a problem with wait times in this game.
