Actually, in FFXI traveling the world with groups of people and socializing while fighting was pretty great. I'd be happy to do it again in FFXIV, and if they would add mob pools that would be one of the main ways to level. And the dungeons in FFXI were open dungeons so it did have dungeons, and imo, Yoshida should try to add open world dungeons in the future because they were really great. I guess if they added open world dungeons in FFXIV it could be a great place to party up and level.

FFXI had events. They were not Fates, but there were timed events that happened in certain areas every once in a while.
