What do those small Icons on top of Item Images mean?

When I browse my armory I can sometimes see a small green or red X (cross) in the lower left corner, other items don't have it. At first I thought it means I can not use that item yet, but why then red and green?

And other items have a small yellow dot in the upper right corner - what does that mean?

Is there no manual that explains stuff like this?

The red cross means you can't wear it I believe because of either job, level or w/e. The dot in the upper right shows the main color of the clothing item. I don't know what green is for.... Maybe you can wear it but you are not a high enough level to get the best benefits from it? That's just speculation i remember when I was playing (over a year ago) you could wear items that were higher than your level but they would damage quicker and I read that now if you do it you wont spiritbond the item as quickly... hope that helps

Red Cross - incorrect class
Green Cross - correct class but low level
Color spots - actual color of the item (might differ from the color of the item in the icon so lets say white conical conjurer hat with red spot is actually red etc.)

The system in 2.0 is such that you can no longer wear equipment higher than your current level. HEC is spot on about the icons.
