and up...
same problem here...using Vista 64, mouse crusor disappears in fullscreen, using borderless window mode solve
the problem but cost around 50% framerate...makes game sometimes nearly unplayable for me!
Vista 64bit is the modern win2k...bad start, but over time it becomes as goog as win7 (XP...)!
performance is equal, stability too...needs a little bit more ram, but with 4gb or more you won´t get any trouble!
hundrets of games run pretty fine on Vista, in clasic-mode (I always use...forever in love with 2k) it looks like win7
in classic-mode and the only thing win7 makes realy better, is start up time and the amount of used ram!
so please fix it SE! just started FF14 yesterday and with that bug, it won´t stay long on my HDD!
---edit---
the problem has nothing to do with Vista graphic-scheme...using classic mode, puristic as possible, and tried aero
with all bling bling too...same bug!

I have this same exact issue, and I bought the game this last Friday. I've been forced to play in borderless window or in windowed because of it, and it's a shame because I lose the same 50% FPS performance because of it. So, instead of 30-50 FPS, I'm getting 8-21 with an average of 15-17.
It's pretty messed up, but I assume it's because a decimal or a number is in the wrong place in the coding and they'll get it fixed. It just takes a lot away from this games experience having to be forced to play with a subpar screen mode.
please SE, fix that bug as fast as possible!
going further on the game, making it more and more unplayable! group fights with around 15fps are no fun at all!
