Been a longtime FF fan and I think it's worth noting that the dialogue and overall feel from NPCs through the script given to them is fantastic in this game. For a long time, Final Fantasy been shackled by the need to appeal to it's core demographic, teenagers, which has resulted in neutering of the text of the years to avoid drifting into M territory.

I'm glad to report this games text feels very adult. Your merchants are crude and greasy like used car salesmen, your riff-raff actually swear and make threats that fall in line with what a cutpurse should say and your more high-society characters speak will all the prose of someone who flunked out of an traveling Shakespeare circus.

I also adore the tongue in cheek references, the subtle humor and the attention to detail. Keep up the good work localization team and people in charge of the script!

Just fix that voice acting, please. It ranges from passable to just mediocre.

I'm 37 and I find it gratuitous at best.

I'll bet you didn't notice anything was "missing" from the previous games until this one wasn't "missing" it anymore.

I love this game's dialogue and the personalities each character has (My favourite is Baederon in Limsa, I was so disappointed it wouldn't let me screenshot some of his lines. Literally fell off my bed laughing). It's been a long time since I've played an FF game with this much personality. Plus the NPCs actually start recognising you as you do more story quests instead of just saying the same bland text to you constantly, or treating you like a newb forever. (I hated that in FFXI, I'd have already gotten Rank10 in a nation, do some other quest and they're treating me like dirt.)

I do hate how half of a cutscene will be voice, and the other half will be just text. It makes everything rather disjointed. Besides that, though, it's wonderful.
