I don't think you need to do a clean install of windows tbh, I'd personally wait to see if SE get back to you first before doing a fresh install. To keep your files, movies etc there's a couple of things you can try: you can try a repair of windows which should not delete any of your settings, files, movies etc. you can also try a system restore, which again will not affect your files, movies etc. Then there is the option of a clean install. Doing a clean install will remove all your files, settings, movies etc. you'll need to back up these files on an external hard drive if you have one. I'd recommend doing a back up anyway no matter what you decide to do, it's something I do regularly considering my past luck with computer components failing on me!
