    Game performance as of late

    I know there have been several posts about game performance in the past but I couldn't find any specifically about this.

    Recently I have been having terrible stuttering issues in game, they are absolutely awful and occur on all graphics settings. I typically play with everything on Standard but in an attempt to fix the problem, I tried low settings but the problem was still there, it didn't seem to help the problem at all.

    My relevant computer specs are:

    Q9550 @ 2.83 GHz
    G. SKILL 8 GB DDR3 Memory
    XFX Radeon HD 5850
    And FFXIV is installed on an OCZ Vertex 2 SSD

    The problem seems to become worse when it starts raining, and with all of the recent rain from the event it's borderline unplayable. My SSD is filling up a little bit it's currently using 44GB/55GB, which as I understand is slightly more than the recommended load for SSDs (I read you should only go up to ~75% capacity), but would this alone make the game this unplayble?

    I started getitng some game graphics issues with the 1.17 patch along with increased DCs on my old laptop. When you say stuttering does it include a sort of 'tearing' at the graphics when you try to turn and stuffs? It really does seem the worst when it rains ><;

    No there's no tearing or anything. It's not even like an FPS drop (I mean it is, but it "feels" different). It's just straight up stuttering like I have a hard time turning and stopping because my character skips around the screen.

    My character would have a hard time turning and stopping too, but I also had graphics tear and now that I think about it my character would also randomly start spinning in circles when i ran ; ; I cleared out a bit of HD space since my laptop was complaining about low HD. I havn't had problems since but I don't know if that was the cause.

    If you're concerned that it may be a hard disk issue, try clearing some extra space.

    Also make sure that your own network connection is stable. Slow connection = stuttering and/or constant disconnects.

    My network connection is definitely fine. I've been working on clearing stuff off the ssd but that's easier said than done, might just have to try installing it on my caviar and see if it helps any unless someone else has any better suggestions. =/
