Concerning Different Caps:

I'm still trying to get the quest in Limsa to work for me after I have done Uldah, but it doesn't want to work yet (it's been more than 24 hrs) BUT there are different hats in the dat files. Yellow Gremlin has them all listed. links below.

I've already gone quests in both Ul'dah and LL and they give the same hat. I can also confirm that you only get the achievement for completing the quest in one city.

All I can think is that maybe the event will progress as days go by as mentioned in an above post. If not it is pretty silly of them to have added special event items into the game that we cannot access. So whether its bugged or set on a predetermined timer, we will just have to wait and see.

The lore definitely suggests that the event will progress and culminate at the end somehow.

Good thing I have 2 Archons, a lightning, 2 earth, and 3 waters. Should get the other two cheevos shortly. :P

Is the egg they give random? I only get water eggs so far, from the Limsa Lominsa egg-lady. Do i have to run to other cities to get other kind of eggs?

Edit: Also, I can only receive eggs every 12 hours, I tried checking the egg-lady at 4,6 and 8 hours with no results.

Now i have got 4 eggs totally, and its all lightning eggs. Im i just unlucky or is there a way to get another egg that is not an lightning egg?

Other than keep trying the NPC or asking others to trade for the eggs you need, then no there is no other way sadly .

Just shout that you're willing to trade a lightning egg for one of the other 3, until you have all 4 total.

Well, they guy never gives me eggs no matter how long I wait, so I've had to abandon and retake the quest every few hours.

I have been lucky with the eggs however. Every egg I've gotten so far has been different. I only need a regular egg and I can complete the Quest in Ul'dah

So lucky! Maybe I should try to abandon the quest and retry too.
