They are working on fixing this by first expanding datacenter capacity.
AFK kick may come after that, but right now they're too busy working on expanding the capacity.

Seriously who in their right mind would assume a non-functioning or non-existant AFK-boot was NOT a bug? People AFK for days are actually interfering with the population needed for other parts of the game. Why would anyone with MMO experience assume locked servers on account of non-booted AFK'ers was intentional?
I have a decade's worth of MMO experience, particularly from Square Enix. They have never in any of their MMOs implemented an AFK Timer except for FFXI, and you can turn that one off on your settings.Seriously who in their right mind would assume a non-functioning or non-existant AFK-boot was NOT a bug? It is not a bug, it is a choice in design and not every MMO is going to go by the standards. That said, I agree there should be an AFK Timer, which is why I'm suggesting you place this elsewhere.
A bug would be if they had an AFK-boot in place and it failed to work.
This feature does not exist, so it's not a bug.
Using the infamous IT language....It is "Working As Designed"...In DAOC days folks would camp for DAYS to get a chance at an artifact boss. The timeout approach is for cheap developers that would rather boot people then increase server capacity.
In short, server capacity > booting.
Understandably, it sucks not being able to get in. You *could* join the crowd and camp with everyone else ^_^
That is one of the most dickish things I've ever read, all the afkers do is waste a player slot for someone who could be having fun instead of being a greedy selfish person who has no reason to afk other than "WOW I LOOK SO COOL SAT HERE, I HOPE SOMEONE NOTICES ME ^_^"Using the infamous IT language....It is "Working As Designed"...In DAOC days folks would camp for DAYS to get a chance at an artifact boss. Exactly. Again, I'm glad this was a cheap game because if they don't fix this, I'm quittin. I should be surprised to see there is a culture of lowlifes DEFENDING no AFK-boot, but I'm not. Just more people looking to get cheap easy thrills at watching someone else's money go to waste. They can't enjoy their game without taking up queue space and wasting it, just so somebody else can't get it. They're willing to actually kill the active population on a server, for F**king made up game currency. It's a mighty achievement to hoard something so worthless and petty. That is one of the most dickish things I've ever read, all the afkers do is waste a player slot for someone who could be having fun instead of being a greedy selfish person who has no reason to afk other than "WOW I LOOK SO COOL SAT HERE, I HOPE SOMEONE NOTICES ME ^_^"
LOL EARLY ACCESS - the whole point of Early Access for these farming SOBS was to be logged in so no one else could get on at launch. #lowlifes
