    Subscription Time Lost Due to 1017 - Reparations

    Yes yes, we have all seen the several announcements about fixes coming "hopefully within the coming week." Hopefully is their own word. It may take LONGER than a week. And even if it does only take a week, these 1017 shenanigans are going to start eating into subscription time. At the moment I believe EA time is still in effect, but isn't there only a day of that left? After that, we're starting to lose sub time for something we have officially paid for.

    I'm all for Square doing whatever the hell needs to be done to get this absolutely god awful launch working fine, but if it's going to start costing US, the CONSUMER, money, by locking us out of a product we paid for, then isn't it only ethical to add one day to everyone's game time for every day this 1017 nonsense has went on? I'm well aware many people CAN play, but for every one person able to play how many do you think cannot?

    I honestly don't expect any reparations from Square in the first place, but I think it's pretty much the only thing that can be done at this point to save themselves from this PR nightmare. A simple free week and suddenly everyone will forget and forgive the poor launch.

    Before everyone goes off on a tangent I'm well aware there probably hasn't been a single MMO with a good launch, but I've been around and played during the launch of possibly a dozen MMOs and this one is by far the worst; not even mentioning the atrocious payment process of having to enter a key to get a key to get a key only to have many people enter a particular key in the wrong place and POOF their 30 days are gone.

    Aside from the server issues and piss poor account creation process, I do commend Square on the actual WORKING game. A+ having a blast the couple hours I've been able to actually play the damned thing.

    I also totally agree but sadly it states in the EULA that outages will happen and we agree power through such times when the game is unplayable.

    Until the game is stable and things are running smoothly this should count as the early access period. They should not take up OUR PAID FOR TIME until they get their crap together.

    Even with the new servers i highly doubt that it will resolve the lack of room needed for the HUGE crowd thats not been able to play.     Surely SE will give us something. If not, then they are only shooting their most loyal fans and customers down.
    It is even worse for v1 players, because, while I am not one, I heard they only get 15 days.

    Those who buy this game in a month, when all these issues are over, will get their full 30 days, while we will not.

    Free game time, an in game item, whatever. SE should, and probably will do something. It would, as you say, help relieve the current PR nightmare.

    Im a 1.0. I paid 80 dollars for a limited collectors edition box in 2010, and they locked me out of my account and when I tried to register a basic ARR with my Collectors edition, it would only let me make a new account. Now I have 2 accounts and about 5 tickets waiting to be answered in customer service the latest from earlier this year, trying to gain access to my account so I could try the beta. Most they've done is show me where the FAQ is which held no answers.

    At this point they're just as bad as EA maybe even worse. At least EA answers their Customer Support tickets.

    I've never seen a company who's so slow with responding to tickets. Then again I've never seen a company launch an MMO that completely collapsed under the weight of 200k people....

    this wasnt a launch of 200k people. it was 280k + simaltaneous connections at once to the servers, thats just the people trying to play at one time, there are several million who have purchased, preordered, and gifted this game, its broken many records thus far and is far from done doing so. Give them credit this is the biggest event in MMO gaming this year and has the potential to pretty much slaughter most other current MMO's IF they fix the primary issue of lack of space. ---> sign the petition! http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...l-Queue-System <---
