Unfortunate mishandling of AFK'ers

Pretty unfortunate this hasnt been addressed, even if it's only done for the first week or 2 while severe login restrictions are in place SE needed to have an afk kick in place. I personally know people who are afking from 6am to 6-pm while at work so they can play for a measly 2 hours when they get home. This is unfair to ppl who have days off. I for one cannot bring myself to do this because I'd rather somebody else use that server space that can actually play. Does SE mot realize that all the AFK'ers are hurting their future business? If thousands afk all day and others cant play at all none of those ppl are going to pay, even after the restrictions are lifted and server space free's up. Why is SE letting these self entitled pompous assholes get away with this?!

During the last 3 days I havn't been able to log in once during normal playing times so I can't say I blame people for doing this

Ya. I don't understand why this hasn't been looked into. There have been areas I've gone into where there would be on average 100 people in the sanctuary gaining rest XP while AFK. I don't know if it's something that would be hard to implement being cross-platform or just a complete overlook. Regardless, that needs to get fixed. Yes, I used the word "fixed" because that is definitely an aspect of the game that's BROKE.

While I suppose it is rude that people would log on during off-peak hours and then afk while they go to work/school... I can't rightly hate them for doing that given the current situation - I would do it too. SQEX is to blame for the system currently put into place that is stifling player access.

I posted in the other thread but this is going to keep happening while there is login restrictions. Its the only way for people to counter being locked out for days. Its sucks and makes it worse for everyone else but I understand the logic behind it. I do not log out during the day when Im home and I have to get up to take care of a few things and gonna be afk for a lil bit. Others are taking it to a whole other level and no logging out ever. It's a by-product of the system they put into place. That have to fix that soon.

AFK kicking doesn't work, I can defeat it with a small piece of cardboard if I have a mind to. It's a placebo, it achieves nothing.

They do have an AFK kick system. It's called maintenance. Happens constantly.

lol, yep - it wouldn't surprise me at all if SE uses the cover of a 911 maintenance, to control the afk population. Nor would I blame them as its one of many upon many issues at the moment.

as there are many ingenious ways to bypass an afk program itself. hitting the server reset button at loosely scheduled times so as not to enrage any instance runners getting punted mid attempt.

Lol. So many tears. The AFK people are not the problem, the problem is SE didn't realize that their game would be this popular and didn't allocate enough hardware for NAEUJP servers.

They said they are addressing it and will be fixed with in the next week.

Are you going to also complain about people who Pre Ordered the game aren't being fair to those who waited until official release, and now digital downloads are suspended because too many people bought and are playing the game???

Personally, having this problem is alot better than having a weak release. Popularity = Longevity.
