    [Suggestion] Add Other Means of Transportation, Review/Remove Anima Teleportation

    I believe that other means of transportation is in the pipes for the future of XIV. [You can see chocobos but can't rent them, you can see airships and airship docks but can't ride them.]

    For these transportation methods to be a viable mode of transportation once released I feel that the anima teleportation system should be reviewed. Maybe the cap should be lowered from 100 to 50. I just personally feel it's a little cheap to be able to teleport anywhere in the world on a regenerating system, and that it will diminish the need for adventure and travel once other modes of transportation have been released.

    I also believe that you shouldn't be allowed to be teleported to a location until you have discovered it. It bothers me that you have the ability to login and just acquire all locations from someone, possibly pay for them, having never actually adventured to said locations.

    I realize that Anima Teleportation is necessary in the current state of the game, but I feel that once other modes of transportation are added that it shouldn't be such a huge system.

    I welcome feedback and suggestions from other players on this matter and possible solutions.

    Right now I find the travelling system not functioning very well. There's a huge difference in transportation, either you have to walk, which is very slow, or you teleport instantly. There's a big gap in between those two options, and that is where chocobo's would fit it.

    I believe the chocobo's to be the ideal solution, assuming they increase your walking speed a considerable amount. First of all, walking everywhere is a pain. If for example you have to hand in a bunch of crafting quests and it makes you walk from limsa lominsa to skull valley, to bald knoll, to iron lake and then to bloodshore. That takes a long time, and is more annoying than it is adventurous.

    And because we don't have a chocobo yet, teleport is used as a replacement. But it's also flawed. Because of the slow regeneration of it, you can only teleport 2-3 times a day, which is nearly not enough.

    I'm ok with them lowering the amount of anima right now, but only if they increase the regeneration. Because for me the problem is not the total amount you can get, but the rate it regens.

    I'm not sure if that's a good idea. I agree that people should venture into the world and discover on their own. But on the other hand it somewhat sucks that if you friends needs some help in *, you can't teleport together with him since you don't have the aetheral point registered.


    For now I would suggest increasing the anima regen(to compensate for not having a mount/speed buff), but as soon as chocobo's get released(don't make them rank 50 only please) they can probably nerf anima.

    Personally, I'd like the anima teleport system to be treated much more so as the OP warp, like what we have in FFXI.

    I don't think this is such a good idea.

    First, not everyone is willing to go on an adventure and travel. People want to get to places quick and easy because running around in this game is terrible... it takes too long. Some people aren't willing to waste their time running from Limsa to Gridania because like like travelling

    Second, when Airships and Chocobos do become available, the current regenaration of anima and cap is adequate because people will be using these modes of transportation more once their anima count goes down to 0. So with this case, since there will be airships and chocobo, more people will use anima more quickly (because they know there are other viable means of transportation) which means more people will be seen travelling on chocobos or airships. So in my perspective, it's kinda a win/win.

    Whoa, hang on! Some don't want to adventure? Isn't that part of the point of a game like this?

    I agree, there is a large divide between the current options of walking/running and instant tele, but if you're too lazy to walk from say Limsa Lominsa to Camp Bearded Rock instead of saving your anima for taking you to Gridania instead, I think you deserve to be made to walk when you run out of anima in 10 seconds.

    Anima can still be thought of as a "currency" in the game, although you can't "give it away", you can share it with others. If you overspend, you need to learn to spend your money more wisely. Sure the bank (SE), might choose to increase your "allowance" from 100 to 150 (or better yet, let you quest a way to do it), or increase the rate at with you recover it, but they're not obliged to bail us out just because we don't know the value of "money".

    While I like the idea of someone being able to take you somewhere you've not been, I would not be completely against the idea of you having to have travelled somewhere once before to be able to tele there again.

    If SE leave anima caps and regen rates where they are, I think people will naturally use other forms of transport (chocobo's or airships), when they come in as they will be more easily accessible (for a price ).

    While anima is being used as a bandaid for the lack of other forms of transformation it was put in there so you could jump in and get to your friends quickly,rather than travelling across all of eorzea while they wait on you.

    if the other forms of travel were in i would probably spend gill to use them instead of spending my precious slowly regenerating anima.

    Baiscally my idea is to implement a carriage (like the one from the Ul'Dah intro cutscene) and have it run in an instanced environement and to also add another ferry from Limsa to the eastern Black Shroud as the maps suggests it is possible.
