    [dev 1032]Controlling Steadfast

Steadfast is a dilemma for me, there are times I love it and times I hate it. Trying to do any grinding in areas like Horizon pre 1.16 patch was a killer (I'm assuming it's better now), I've lost count of the times I aggro's an following Aldgoat or two due to Steadfast.

So I thought I'd open this debate - do you think a MRD should be able to toggle Steadfast on and off? Still keep the 30 second timer, but once you are 30 secs into engagment (and have not moved) give us the option to use Steadfast or not! Thoughts?

The new patch allows us to, once receiving steadfast, keep it on with small movements. So once it pops, if you can, keep your movements small and if you want to remove it juke one way or the other.

All you need is to practice your movements. It is to just remove the effect right before using a tp move if you are concerned with your aoe aggroing multiple mobs.

Steadfast is an awesome skill, especially since the latest patch.

Agree, latest patch give us more mobility. This allow me to adjust the right angle to use my AOE.

In my opinion, I ever think like Grundy said that we should able to toggle steadfast on/off (maybe like GLA's Guard)
I always try to find the resolution of Steadfast and the latest one is how about trait that reduce preparation time of steadfast? (3sec for example) somewhat like GLA's Self's Preservation.

By the way, I support this topic that we should share discussions about Steadfast improvement. > <)/

My main beef with Steadfast is the majority of things you fight in this game dont live long enough for Steadfast to become active. This leads me to thinking it would be better to have this as more of a toggle action, kind of like the way Defender is now.

I think you should be able to toggle steadfast, was thinking of it like a WoW Paladin Aura type toggle bar, but it roots you to the ground permanently/or until a mob uses a knockback that breaks the effect.

Well, to "toggle off" just do a step to the side =P

But i agree should be a way to turn it on...it could be linked to light swing, just like light strike does to pugilist. This way you could activate and deactivate at will.

Enhancing enduring march would also be a good way to dealing with it. Think about an enduring march similar to defender...you toggle on/off, 30 minutes duration, 30 seconds recast and, while active, you will always having steadfast active. If steadfast happens to not be active, the enduring march effect will be forcing the activation of it.

Yes, usually you end up hitting misc enemies because of steadfast. I think we should be able to toggle it off in the same manner that mages are able to toggle off their AOEs.

I agree that we should be able to toggle it on and off. I've only done leves but a habit I have is getting into steadfast before we fight anything. It helps a little but sometimes the mobs go nuts and I have to run towards them.

Steadfast really only makes one difference, AoE or no AoE. I find Steadfast to make the battle more interesting because there are times i want to AoE a group and others that i do not due to the possible gimping of the next group. There is so much more to being a MRD than just getting in Steadfast. I think that making Steadfast into a toggle feature will, in a way, stunt the skillfulness of being a MRD.
