Professor Erik - Bloodshore dialogue

In Professor Erik's lecture on the Bloodshore, he says the line:

By the by, it just so happens that the head of the League of Lost Bastards, one Bloefhiswyn, was father to the current Admiral of Limsa Lominsa. It is told the old sea dog wished for his daughter to take command of his fleet upon his death.

Shouldn't Merlwyb's father be named simply Bloefhis and not Bloefhiswyn, as the -wyn suffix signifies "daughter of"?
