Please help. Registering PS3 after EA

Hello, I've searched for this but found no clear answer or procedure to follow. So I had a 18 digit XXXX-123-XXXX-123 pre-order code that I redeemed on August 23rd, and that gave me a 12 digit XXXX-XXXX-XXXX PSN code that I used to play in early access up until now. Now I have my PS3 CE box of the game, and inside the disc box I find both another 18 digit XXXX-123-XXXX-123 code and another XXXX-XXXX-XXXX PSN code. What do I do now to register my game to the character I already have? I just go redeem the XXXX-XXXX-XXXX PSN code in the box at the PS Store and that's it? I don't need the new 18 digit one because I already have one?

Also, should I expect the Trophy list to just pop after I register the game on PSN, or does it install via a patch or do I have to use my disc? FFXIV is not in my Trophy list right now.

Thanks in advance for your help. Maybe its obvious to some but I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering, and given the number of errors/problems people have had I want to be sure I'm doing it right.

regsister the 20-digit code with Square enix - I believe Mogstation does this now? I used the original members site on the hardcopy. The 12-digit code goes into PSN , use the redeem code option, this was not working until mid afternoon yesterday because PSN had to complete it's update cycle for the codes to be valid.

After doing those, make sure that when you start the game you choose your existing service account (assuming you have one) and do not create a new one unless you have no service account for Final Fantasy with Square Enix. you need to scroll down to get past the "Create New Account" button, there should be a "continue" option, so if your existing service account is selected, click continue and all will be well.

The first 6-3-6-3 is a pre-order registration to get you either Windows or PS3 Early Access - which in your case a 4-4-4 PSN redemption code. Both of them are used and now invalid.

The PS3 CE boxed 6-3-6-3 is for you to register the product as part of game collection in Square Enix Membership (social profile). However the actual PS3 CE game license is the 4-4-4 PSN redemption code that you must enter in PS3.

Once you have successfully redeemed it, you will be asked to download. If you already have Early Access PS3 game client, you don't need to re-download. Upon launch the game client, you will be asked to go through the initial set up to connect your SEN to SQEX (Square Enix Account - which has your FFXIV Service Account (in Mog Stations).

You will be presented with 2 options, "I currently possessed a Square Enix Account" or create a new Square Enix Account (can't recall the exact wording). If you want to reuse your existing service account, DO NOT CREATE NEW SQUARE ENIX ACCOUNT!! Log in with your existing SQEX, now if you're lucky, you should be able to key in your Square Enix ID, password (and one-time password). If all goes well - that is if PSN and SE able to recognise your PS3 CE 4-4-4 key - then you are logged in. You should be presented on which service account to attach the CE items to, you get to review this ONCE. Be careful of the choice and read carefully!!! Once you made a choice, you should be able to confirm this by looking in your Mog Stations. If you use existing FFXIV service account then it will show up in Mog Stations with just one "FFXIV 1" otherwise another service account will appear "FFXIV 2" if you created a second service account, or did it accidentally.

The tricky part is - which a lot of PS3 people have right now - is not able to get pass the initial registration. The server/game client will report "No valid service account" despite many already have an existing service account wither with Windows client, or from P4/EA.

    Good luck.

Thanks a lot for the answers, I'm still kind of confused though... which one do I have to do first? Redeem the PSN code in the PS Store, or go to Mog Station and redeem the 18 digit one? The instruction booklet inside the disc box does not say anything about what to do with the 18 digit code. What do I have to do in the Mog Station? When I log in there it shows the current status of my pre-order EA account, do I click on "add platform" and follow the steps or what?

You don't need to use 6-3-6-3 code is product registration as it is for Square-Enix Membership (social profile) site. The real game code is the 4-4-4 on PSN Redeem. If you want to have Square-Enix Membership, you can sign up, think of product registration to keep a shelf collection.

Square-Enix Account (one that use for FFXIV Service Account) is different from Square-Enix Membership.

All right, I redeemed my PSN code and went trough the entire process when I logged back in. It seems to have worked since I got my CE items in the message box! The Trophy list for FFXIV has also pop'ed up in my trophy list, which answers my second question.

Thanks a lot for clearing that up for me

If I wanted to redeem that 6-3-6-3 code, where would I go to do that? Any chance you can post a link? And what are the benefits of doing that SE Membership thing, or the cons of not doing it? o.o

The Square-Enix Membership registration URL is on the sheet that the registration code printed on... Literally few lines above the code!!!!!!!!!

P/S: so you managed to get your Square Enix Account link up with your PSN/SEN ok?

Yep that all went fine. And I did see that URL above the code. Its http://member.square-enix.com/na/. I go there, sign in with my SE account, click "Log In" and that takes me to http://eu.square-enix.com/en/home (start with NA, end up in EU...)

    What then?

Try sign in with your SQEX - but that might not work, so you will need to "Sign-up"... and yes it seems like Square-Enix Members for NA redirects to EU site, so that is fine.

Ah, all right. What's that Square-Enix Membership (social profile) thing for anyways?

And thanks again for your help and patience!
