New player questions (Haven't played since v1)

I have a million ?'s. Please help me out with these as i'm sure i'm not the only person that has them, I hope. Also links to answers would be great. So here we go. (I'm an FFXI vet and I think that might be hindering me a bit here)

1. How exactly do you get adv. jobs? (Smn, Pld, ect.) I've been told that you need to get 1 job to 15 and another to 30 or something to this effect. What are all the combos?

2. Can you rent chocobo's and ride them where you want or is the auto chocobo all you can do until you can unlock your own?

3. Is there a way to tell how close you are to spiritbond on an item? I see a bar next to the item durability bar i am assuming that that is the SB bar but I don't understand how to read it. My items have different colors on that bar.

4. What are the icons on some mobs. I see a blue icon sometimes and red triangle icons. Does this show what mobs link and aggro? If not how do you tell which ones link and aggro?

1.) You get advanced jobs by getting the main job to 30 and a certain subjob to 15 then take a quest in your main job's guild
i.e. since you're archer, you want to get pugilist to 15 and then go to the archer's guild and do the quest there

2.) the auto chocobo is all you can do until you unlock the mount

3.) the second bar on an item is the SB bar, how full it is from bottom to top is the % of soulbind, or you can just mouse over the item and the soulbind % is listed on the bottom by durability

4.) red triangles are aggro, link mobs are shown by connecting lines between them when you target one

2. I think you can ride them if you take them from cities? Otherwise outpost chocobos or on rails until you unlock your own.

3. The blue bar on an item represents spiritbonding, its done by simply using the item like fighting with it or crafting with it etc.

4. Icons represent how hostile they are, the blue flower? means its docile and wont attack unless attacked the red triangle means the opposite.

You can get a chocobo from the main cities and ride for 10 minutes. It unlocks at level 10 like the porter. You talk to the same person to use it.
