    Warrior Need advice!

Today I tried a lvl 50 dungeon and used a War to tank. It was really a bad experince. War could not hold hate as much as PLd. Should I use gear with more speed skill, Vit or str. Does determination help in keeping hate?

GCD for tank is very long and I needed more skills to keep hate. I used flash from PLD but when I was in the dungeon the skill was not useable. Did anyone try using it in dungeon? Could this be a bug?

Flash works it just has a short range and doesn't grab a lot of hate... All honesty playing Mrd is about positioning. Using your aoe hate skill consistently enough and fast reactions.

Thank very much for your advice . I figured the problem why it ws not working. I saw so many talking about gld but not much about war. I hope someone would make a good thread about war tanks. I tried but it did not go well .

and also, just a qn since i cant open a thread: is it worth it to use savage blade as a marauder for enmity, since it doesnt require a combo opener like the native mrd swings? this is for situations where you need to quickly rebuild hate

At level 12 you get Overpower. Which does not require a combo and gives increased enmity when used. It is also a conal AoE so it is technically better than savage blade. Also because Savage blade would be cross classed, I would imagine the enmity effect is reduced.

Savage Blade only gives the +emnity when used in combo with Fast Blade. Between Overpower and Flash, you really shouldnt have issues with AoE threat. Just mark a primary target and you should be fine with the rest.

I am just confused to when I should use the +enmity skills. I start the battle using provoke then flash and overpower 2 times then start with a couple of combos and after thant I go back to flash and double overpower. Still I would lose enmity to DDs. I don't know what would be a good rotation. I was doing Aurum Vale and I usually lose enmity to the first boss when I go get the fruits. Any advice?

I was wondering, should the DDs wait for sometime before attacking like give 10-15 sec for tank first then they start attacking?

Part of it could be aggro management on the part of your DD's, yeah. If they're going all out right from the get-go then it can be tough for anyone to take and hold hate.

Your starting rotation seems fine; maybe consider opening with Tomahawk because I think it generates more hate than Provoke (and the hate scales on your weapon damage and with Defiance, so that makes it even better). Lay down 2-3 Overpowers before any CC is thrown out, and then begin Heavy > Sunder > Butcher's Block on your main target. Swap over to Heavy > Maim > Storm's Eye to debuff the target and increase your damage before hitting the main target with a Fracture and going back to Heavy > Sunder > BB.

As long as the DPS focus on your primary target, your 2-3 initial Overpowers should be enough to hold the mobs off of the healer until they get CC'ed. If you have no CC, then after every 3-WS combo, toss in another Overpower. So Heavy > Maim > SE > Overpower, then Heavy > SS > BB > Overpower and so forth. Use Inner Beast and defensive cooldowns as the situation demands.

It can also help to tell your group "Don't engage until I get off the third Overpower" which will help you gain a hate lead. If they have issues with that, and keep pulling hate, let them die. That's the only way a bad DPS will learn. Good DPS not only deals damage, but manages they're own hate as well. Bad DPS goes all out and ends up face-tanking stuff it can't handle.

Oh, and also, try opening with Berserk on your initial combos. The extra damage really goes a long way. When the Pacification debuff comes up, hit Flash twice to bridge the gap, then resume your regular rotation.
