I bought this game to play it, not to have it sit on a shelf like a paper weight.

I've played MMOs off and on for years Square-Enix and you need to understand something. I am being affected by the 1017 error the same as everybody else and it isn't right. In the past, most MMOs have terrible launches, true, but yours is self-inflicted.

I can't for the life of me fathom the design choice wherein you can log in to your account and essentially rent a spot on the server. In every other MMO I've ever played in life you may have problems *getting on a server* to create your toon but once you're on it, *you are on it* for good and you don't have to wait for a spot to open up again.

Why on earth would you design a game this way? Now we have thousands of rude, selfish, ignorant people keeping their games logged on while they go to work, school, or whatever and the rest of us who have literally not even gotten to log on once yet have to sit on our hands waiting for this.

This setup needs to change. If I have to fight for a spot on the roster, as it were, every time I want to play this game, then I will most likely just give up trying. And I know I'm not alone in this.

Square-Enix, if you're listening at all, you need to change this design flaw and allow all players on all servers who are currently registered on those servers to have their own exclusive spot reserved. I realize this makes it difficult what with the dead characters or abandoned accounts, but this is the regular issue all companies who make an MMO have to deal with. You can easily weed those accounts and characters out later at your discretion. This isn't fair to those of us who purchased this game, have been your faithful followers and wish to support the hopeful success of this great game. I played the original, I beta tested this game for you, now allow me to play the game I gave you $80 for.
