Quests you can activate but not turn in

So far this is one of the biggest annoyances I've come across in the game. I'll look at quests which are under recommendations on the Duty list, walk to the marker on the map, and it's not a quest for my current class level.

I can understand if it would take your highest class into account, but the help text specifically states that it will suggest quests for your current class/level. It sometimes gets to the point where I have 4 quests I've done everything for but can't turn in because of my level.

Yes, you can check the info box when accepting the quest. Yes, you can check the journal for the quest level if you missed your first chance. But why even let us activate a quest on a class, or have the marker on the map, or even more annoying, recommend that we do it, if we can't have the reward?

Please do something to fix this, it's really annoying me lol.

They lock you out of turning in quests if you are trying to turn it in on a class that is too low level (example: Trying to turn in a level 20 quest on a level 5 class). So far I have never run into a quest that somehow gets higher level when you turn it in. Also quests that require you to give a NPC an item remain "locked" until you actually get the item.

However, you might be confused by the quests that let you pick a reward. "Complete" will be blacked out until you pick a reward out of the options.

No he isn't confusing anything I have the same issue. As Arcanist i had 4-5 quests where i went through, did everything, and went to hand in, only to find out the quest was 2 levels higher than me and I couldn't hand it in. Never changed jobs or anything, I accepted the quest, finished all requirements, then went to hand it in only to find out it was a level 20 and I was 18.

The recommended duties needs a lot of works till imho. I would love to see "level 20" next to the name of the quest, and it to only show the names of quests that are your level -5 (if you are 20, only show 15-20 quests). Dont show quests 2-5 levels higher that you can't even hand in.

I'm logged in now and there are 4 examples of it on High Bridge in Thanalan. I'm ACN22, and all the quests there are minimum level 24. I can accept them all fine but I know that when I do the requirements it won't let me turn them in. I don't see why you are even able to accept something you can't complete. It's even worse when you're trying to level up for a main quest and you keep getting it.

Those quests are level locked for accepting so not sure why others aren't. I'd just personally rather they didn't show until you were on a class that could turn it in.

This is a fault of the class system and seems a little broken. I agree with their intention, but the result is what has been talked about here in that the entry level requirement for a quest is not the same as the completed level requirement.

One solution would be to scale the experience down, and only down (think level sync), to the current class handing it in. Not the financial or item reward, just the experience. After all, you did complete the request and part of the "contract" with the quest provider was to pay you what you are due. This would also fall in line with other mechanics present in the game including FATE and dungeon level sync and cross class skills (notice you can equip cure at level 1 even though it is a level 2 spell... you know the spell!).
