Chocobo companion and Duty Finder

Hey all,

We received a recent update from the Duty Finder lead on some of the upcoming changes to mounts and companions in upcoming patches.

We had mentioned that in a forthcoming update, we would make it possible for players to be able to summon your mount, and register for the Duty Finder, while your companion was summoned. The lead updated us that being able to ride your mount with your companion out, and have them return to you once you dismount, will be added in patch 2.2. However registering for duty with your companion summoned will be implemented after patch 2.3.

We'll continue to keep you all updated as we hear more.

As awesome as this is, can you please tell us if they're at least looking into resetting chocobo points?

You should put 'solve major player annoyances/frustrations' at the top of your to-do list...

Chocobo during DF & the Chocobo points dilemma ought to be viewed as high-alert changes.

These (along with the inability to hide quest objectives) are the sort of things that lose you subscribers.

Too many grave nuisances, people get irritated, & they leave the game.

Just helping you out as a company SE, these small changes could solely prevent the loss of let's say 3% of your player-base... which' a lot.

And that 3% could have greater repercussions than you know, because that 3% could've brought in another 3% off of inviting their friends to play & so on.

Please expedite these changes for 2.21 at minimum.

And this please. I just need two resets, one to get my Paladin Barding, and one to make him useful to me after that. Though more would be helpful when I level other jobs.

This will make doing fates with smaller parties so much more convenient. Thanks for the update on the situation.
Any word on resetting/respecing chocobo ability points??

Another great idea... (personally)
Make it so that we can have a party of 8 and everyone in that party can their Chocobos out. Make the Chocobos/companions a pet, kind of like SMN or SCH. All SMN/SCH can have their pets out in a party of 8.

It might mess with the balance of parties, but this would help a lot for FATEs in the lower levels.

We know 90% of the (insert your server name here) server is doing end-game and not participating in the lower level stuff.

Also, the time in which you are riding on your company chocobo will not count towards the duration in which you can have your companion out. Once you dismount and your companion re-appears, the timer will resume.

It is a follow-up to the previous post in this thread. You will be able to enter DF while chocobo is out, and be able to ride it while it is summoned. The timer he is referring to is the timer for how long you can keep a summoned chocobo out.
