Afterglow Xbox 360 controller and FFXiV

Good morning. I recently purchased an Xbox 360 controller for my PC to play some single player games with and wanted to try it out in FF to see how the controller worked. The game knows the controller is there and I am able to select it but the game itself (Menu's and character control) will not respond. Anyone else have this issue with the controller or know of any way to fix it?

I have used an Afterglow xbox360 controller for this game on pc and had no problems, though I prefer mouse/keyboard. Before you start the game, make sure to:
Find the controller in Devices & Printers
right click icon and select Game Controller Settings
click Propertries
calibrate the controller to windows first

Then enter game and calibrate to ffxvi.

If all the buttons don't map to windows first, then it's a bad controller and/or driver.

I have used the controller for other games without issue so I know (unless the controller randomly broke) that it works fine. I pulled up the ingame Calibration screen and before I started the calibration I was able to hit the buttons and they all seemed to react, but the moment calibration started nothing else worked on the controller. I wonder if it may be an issue with my Nostromo speed pad and the controller running at the same time or not. Guess I will play with it a bit later.

First off make sure that the game is in Gamepad mode - http://imgur.com/W93nw4S

Also you should of been prompted by the game to do a quick in-game calibration. I don't know off the top of my head how to force that prompt again but I can give you settings to paste in.

Please exit the game before you apply these.

Go to C:\Users\{USER}\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn
Open FFXIV.cfg in a text editor

Under <SoundPlaySettings> (at the next free line below this)

Copy and paste
<GamePad Button Settings>
PadButton_L2 XHB_Left_Start

PadButton_L1 Autorun_Support
PadButton_R1 Hotbar_Set_Change
PadButton_Triangle Jump
PadButton_Circle Cancel

PadButton_RS Camera_Operation
PadButton_L3 Lockon_and_Sword
PadButton_R3 Camera_Modechange

Save, Exit, Restart the Game

If you notice that settings like above are already present and still dosn't work; you should attempt to uinstall the drivers and plug your gamepad into a different usb slot.

my left analog stick on mine randomly stops while running while its press up this has happened with 2 after glows now. this one was brand new only had it for about 2 weeks or so.

I also use the afterglow xbox gamepad to play with no problem.

my left analog stick is messed up in calibrate for windows and i dont know how to fix it
