Everyone will be getting more free time.

The gaming community is watching you take a game that could have been amazing, from something that was reviewed as total trash, and thanks to poor technical planning and now putting off your number one problem of logging in, will forever put yet another black eye on the FFMMO and SE names.

Somehow, I don't think that will be enough to save this game...
I love how they consider a basic "stop clogging our servers for no reason" mechanic as "drastic measures." Half an hour is a more than reasonable time to kick someone off for being AFK. Even if there was more than enough room for everyone to play simultaneously I dont see anything wrong with force kicking someone off the game if they are not actually playing it.
They refer to it as a "placebo solution", despite the fact that it's an elegant and reasonable solution. Right now people that paid and invested time in a character can't play, despite legions of people being AFK all day. There isn't even a guarantee a person could find an open slot on another server. This is really unfortunate, SE's server/production team is really showing their naivete and lack of experience here.I love how they consider a basic "stop clogging our servers for no reason" mechanic as "drastic measures." Even if i could get on another server i dont want to start another char already have a legacy char and working on my 2nd low leg char now. I agree with the experience and naivete bit though it just goes to show much hasn't changed from 11
Yes, that's the happy medium we should be striving for here. Even if Square thinks it's akin to the "Close Door" button on an elevator, implementing one would not only alleviate some of the congestion, but it would also make a lot of people very happy. I don't even think it has to be a heavy-fisted action. Your half-hour suggestion is reasonable; an hour would be downright generous. That would be a great place to start. Like many have said before me, there's no benefit to these stagnant characters. They contribute nothing to the community but headaches and rage-broken controllers and keyboards.I love how they consider a basic "stop clogging our servers for no reason" mechanic as "drastic measures."
