Thanks for commenting on the issue, but it doesn't help those of us who either haven't gotten to play at all (I have been fortunate enough to get some playing in) or stuck behind repeated 1017 for hours and hours on end. This needs action ASAP.

And kicking AFKers would? There are very few AFK people compared to active players. And where do you even draw the line? Can I go to the store and come back? Can I run upstairs to make dinner? Can I take a long shower?

Only a very tiny fraction of the playerbase is AFK for more than an hour. This fix would do absolutely nothing except give everyone something else to complain about.
