    Forum Ranking System Help

Hey, I see that you can apparently only make three posts a day (at least that is all I can make cause I am new). I am also limited in how big of a post I can make (1000 characters), but have clearly seen people posting more. I have searched through the site as best I can and even read through all their do's and don'ts, their Terms of Use, etc and just don't see it. Can anyone direct me to a link with how the forum ranking system works, or if it isn't much, just post it here? Would be appreciated.

I am new to FF, but have been playing MMO's for a while, and am usually an avid forum goer, and this whole limited characters and limited number of posts is tolerable if it is only for a short time period.

Haven't had restrictions like this since the early days of GameFAQs... ahhh good times.

    Here.

If you need to post more than 1000 chars simply post first below the limit and then edit the post to add the rest

Awesome! Thank you so much. My searching skills appear to be lacking

Here I thought it would be tied to the forum itself, not your ingame character. Sucks that you can't go over 20 in one day (unless you are posting here or something) even after you are max level. I would think there should be a point where the restrictions are lifted completely. At least with posts. I guess I could understand the limitation on thread creation.

Thanks for the tip on breaking the 1000 character limit :P

Yeah - I found the posting limitations absolutelly ridiculous - just look in GD - it's practically deserted. It this will not change soon and get replaced by an actual proper moderation rather than current dettern dictatorship this forum will become dead sadly. At the times where forum could be made by 8 years old in 10 minutes from his home computer and storage space is not (such big) issue anymore this is just plain silly.

Well clearly from your sig, you were the right one to ask about this. HAHA!

I don't mind some kind of forum rep system or whatever. You could even attach post limits to that. I can also understand stopping people from posting until they hit a certain level to keep down the spam... but yeah, I think their limitations go a tad bit too far.

GameFAQs (back before they were taken over... don't know if they still are like this) had a rep system, that I thought worked nicely. You had to make like 20 posts to get more access, and then kept building from there. Course this was like in 2002... so things have changed. OCN doesn't limit your posting, that I have found, but they do have a cool rep system for people to rate your posts and you gain "Flames" to show your status in the community.

But yeah, this whole system they have here does seem a bit archaic and unnecessary. If you can't afford to moderate the forums yourself, nominate regular users to have such privileges and permissions. Communities have a cool way of policing themselves if given the opportunity to do so.
