    Square-Enix PLEASE READ (1017)

    Square-Enix,

    Since this is the game's re-launch I am willing to overlook the shortcomings of the game architects such as the poor resource allocation by inadequate management and poor network analysis by uncalculated network architects. These people have done a poor job of projecting what resources are necessary to run this game in a stable environment. Square-Enix KNOWS they have a successful game on their hands. They also knew how many pre-orders they had so they could have passed that information off to their data centers so the network and resource architects could have calculated and planned accordingly. Obviously none of this occurred or we would not be in the situation we are in today. So we are now at the mercy of a company that has poor projection skills.

    Initially during early access I created a character on the NA server Diablos. I leveled this character to 20, but this character has been stagnant since then due to 1017 world full blocks. I am not one who will cry over spilled milk. So I moved on and tried to create a new character on a less populated NA server, but I could not due to the new character creation blocks. So I decided to move to the land of the rising sun, and I created a new character on the JP server Ifrit. I leveled my newly created character on the JP server to level 15. I was totally content with starting over anew, and everything was going smoothly until this morning at 8:00AM EST when I tried to logon to the JP server Ifrit and was greeted by the notorious 1017 world is full block. (NOTE: I also received a queue last evening on the PS3 when trying to enter JP server Ifrit, but was eventually permitted to enter)

    However, I am willing to overlook all of the current short-comings and faulty projection management if SE can take the proper steps to remedy these problems within the upcoming month.

    I have purchased 3 copies of this game: 1 PC Collector's Edition, 1 PC Standard Edition, and 1 PS3 Standard Edition. All of which will be tied to 3 separate SE accounts with 3 separate subscriptions. I will not be activating any of the registration codes or registering a paying subscription on any of these games/accounts until SE can remedy their data center problems. Once my free access (early access time) wears off these 3 accounts will all be stagnant. I am sorry but I cannot commit to a game that is not ready.

    Square-Enix, if you are reading this please understand that I will return to the game once proper management of your resources has occurred. Until then I wish my fellow gamers good luck especially if you have already committed to the game by registering the game codes and a subscription.

    Thank you Square-Enix I do adore the game you have produced, but please let me play it.

    It's 7am where I live, and this is already like the 4th one of these today, worded the best, but still just saying "FIX IT OR I WON'T PLAY!" So take this with a grain of salt, Calm your tits, they are adding more servers, either wait, or get started and work on a toon!

    Where did you read that they were adding more servers. "This is true for Japan" I have yet to see anything about NA/EU

    ??1017[impossible to gauge!]

    This morning, at 9:30 a.m., I receive a 1017. After 27 attempts to log in, I finally got in. This is not peak playing time. The only time I did get some serious playing time in was yesterday. I had to log in the am and leave my character on line or I wouldn't be able to play at all when I got home 5 hours later which made me feel horribly guilty. However, I paid for the service for 180 days this week, I paid for Early Access, I paid for the upgrade to collector's edition, so why should I? I refused to attempt log ins for 1-3 hours!! You now have over 100+ of my dollars. I was able to play so little during the early period, I want a refund on that in game time. It's not too much to ask. In fact, I believe everyone who paid for early access deserves game time compensation. You sold full access to a playable game and that isn't what I got. You now have even blocked sales entirely. My friends not yet on can't buy the game? I can't create a new character and try out some different looks. I can't play with my friends already here...we were all scattered to the winds. They can't make new characters on my server...I can't make new characters where they are. 1-3 days...ok. Working out bugs. This has been since Saturday. I see a projected new servers add for next week??? C'mon....that's absurd. I love this game. It's incredibly fun. It's the best game I think I have ever played to date. I play a lot of MMOs. I have guilds in two others. The launches of other games was rocky yes, but not this rocky. In fact, this is the most problematic launch I have seen in an MMO. I wasn't soured by 1.0. I tried it for a while, it was broken, I quit. Even after that, and being a loyal ffxi player for many years, and a SE fan.... ( I own every title you've ever released) I'd really like to enjoy it as it should be enjoyed. Your customers deserve better treatment, more frequent updates, and some deserve compensation. Please.

    You entered to have your subscription set up. They have no charged you yet for the 180 days. I know this because I also set mine up. You will not be charge until after the free 30 days. Secondly, 27 attempts and you got in? I would consider that a win. I have a macro set up to log in me and it ran for a solid hour before it let me in.

    So you logging in and staying logged in while you work or whatever is not helping the problem, its just making it worse.

    No, but I was charged for the Early Access. 27 attempts this morning by the way, was making the point that it was off peak and still can't play.. We can add that to the over three hours off attempts after a quest kicked me off line with an error the day before that, the 7 hours the day before that after getting kicked,.....and so on. I don't see it as a win. As for me logging in and staying logged in yesterday....how is that making the problem worse exactly? By not making space for others? When they pay my early access fee, I'll worry about them. It's a game I paid early access to play, and I am assuring I am able to play during the time I paid for. It isn't my fault that they didn't account for the huge sales when ordering their servers. I'm glad it is such a success. It's a great game. When I can play it. I felt bad about staying on line yesterday. Now that I see so many with similar problems, I don't feel very bad.

    As unethical as this may sound I have (this week) resorted to playing this game while I'm at work due to the login restrictions and 1017 blocks. I've been playing it on my breaks on my ultrabook that is tethered to my cell phone. This has been the only "real" unrestricted time that I have been able to play because most people are at work or school and the login restrictions don't seem to be as severe.

    However, this morning that work-around ended due to the 1017 world is full block. I've also been disconnected several times this morning by the 90000 and 2002 error.

    Stop making 1017 threads! They are fully aware of the problem. Instead of making a new 1017 thread every 20 mins, why don't everyone respond of one of the main 1017 threads while liking the original OP post. That is how the reps are going thru the forum, same way they did for the Beta. Have 100s of 1017 just muttles up the board and makes it harder for them to shift thru the other technical issues that they might not know of.
