A slight twist on the usual 1017 barrage.

I know -everyone- is dealing with the whole 1017 error thing, with a large number of people actually on the servers being afk 50% of the time.

But today I had a fun little thing occur that was equal parts amusing and infuriating.

Finally, after two days of inability to access the game at any point in the day, morning, noon, night or midnight. I FINALLY see a queue to get into the world.

"Your position in queue is 45"

I think, yayyy I can finally get back to the marvel that is battling the primals and exploring the beauty of FFXIV. Shortly to be followed by....

    1017

    This happened four times.

Apparently, being in the queue isn't enough to tell me the world is full. But the game feels the need to kick me from the waiting list to re-affirm that the world is in fact full.

Come on FFXIV... I'd wait for a few hours if I knew I could eventually get from 10000 in line to actually play eventually. This constant tease is really wearing on my nerves, kinda feels like I wont be able to even access the game till a month later, since I dont plan on rerolling on a new server -just- in the hopes it doesnt fill up a day later.

Oh and I don't know if these numbers are correct or just speculation I overheard. But if FFXIV does in fact have 2.1mill players currently paid up and trying to play, and each server holds 5000, with 25 servers per region. That kinda means between the two regions only 250000 players can be playing at any one time.

Kinda seems like 7/8ths of the people who bought the game can't play it and won't be able to anytime soon.
