I wouldn't simply dismiss Argh's input and deter anyone from discussing his points--"feeding the troll"--because they're not in favor of the game's comeback. He does address many problems that make the game less desirable to a lot of players (including myself, but I'm not making a biased reply).
Referencing FFXI is constructive because it was a fairly successful mmorpg. This does not imply that we'd simply like a clone of FFXI, but rather we'd like to see some of the predecessor's stronger elements in this game.
I would, however, try to understand the amount of work the new development team has to take-on and the complexity involved. Maybe some of the work is being done behind closed doors (i.e. not implemented in patches until finished), who knows what the game will look like months from now?
I think the only sensible thing to do right now is either 1) play the game for what it is in its current state and try to enjoy it, or 2) play something else but keep-up on these forums expecting, or at least hoping, that they will turn this game around!
