Target Cycling on PS3

I was playing last night on the ps3 and I was having a little trouble cycling through the monsters and the other PCs
As I started as a conjurer I wanted to go around and heal some people who looked like they were in trouble but the target cycling made it very difficult and by the time I'd targeted the person who needed help it was too late!
Is there an easy way to select only players or only monsters because otherwise it seems pretty random who my targetting selects.

There are multiply options - in the player settings you can modify the selection filter.

While in group it's the best to use F1 - F4 to select 1. - 4. party member and F11 the closest mob you're facing.

Alternatively just plug in the USB mouse and use it for targeting (or anything else indeed) instead. You can also use the "virtual" mouse for that (L1+R3 to toggle virtual mouse on and off).

If you don't want use a mouse, or virtual mouse go to the main menu and go to character customization and there you will find various targeting options. I'm not quite sure where in the main menu these options are. I'll check next time I'm in game. But they are definitely in the main menu(hit start).

You can use a real mouse on PS3 which helps. I prefer the pad targeting options. If you go into Character Config. then Filters. Un-Select Enable target cycling. In the selection below select Enable customization. You can then use those shortcuts to choose different targeting options on the fly. Really makes things easier.

I'm still getting used to the control style
I'll have a check and find what's easiest but I'm glad there are so many different options available
