I woke up to the sme problem. But I'll assume it's because of the maintenence their doing on the worlds and just wait like I did yesterday. Waiting to play a new game sucks but FF and crew are worth it.

Maintenance should be done by now. Plenty of people in other threads talking about being on. I' getting the same 2002 error.

I had this problem when I bought the game yesterday. The solution I found on reddit was to download and run a program called Spotflux. That it fixed it for me.

At least it's something until SE fixes the error. I hope they fix it soon though.

After contact with support they send me a email saying

    - If using a router, try bypassing the router and plugging directly into the modem.

    - Some users have found that resetting their networking equipment has resolved this issue. To do this unplug all your networking equipment and wait about 3 - 5 minutes. Start with your modem and work towards your computer, giving each device at least 2 - 3 minutes to start up fully.

    - If you are using any kind of software/hardware Internet Sharing service/device the following ports need INCOMING access to your PC. TCP 80, 8080, 443, 55296~55551, UDP 55296~55551, also check to make sure that the ports mentioned are not blocked by your ISP for INCOMING access. Proper configuration of any of the above items mentioned should be done by following the instructions in the software /hardware manual or calling the manufacturer's technical support.

Please take note of the following FAQs:
    * If you are on PlayStation 3, please navigate to the Settings menu of the PlayStation 3's internet browser and enable cookies.
*We do highly recommend to keep your PlayStation3 updated, please navigate to the System Update option on the PlayStation3.
    * Proxy servers, and satellite connections are not supported and do not work correctly with FINAL FANTASY XIV.
    * Your router may require that you use a PC to configure your network settings. For more information about how to configure your network settings, please refer to the instruction manual that came with your router or contact the manufacturer directly.
    * If your Internet Service Provider (ISP) specifies a DNS server, you need to make sure to configure your settings to allow packets to pass through UDP Port 53 as well. For more information, please refer to the instruction manual for your router or the information provided by your ISP.
Thank you for contacting the SQUARE ENIX Support Center.
