this pretty much sums it up.Greetings, fellow adventurers!
As some of you have mentioned, the notorious monsters that were added on Patch 1.17 are designed for mid-rank players. So for those of you who have already reached to a higher rank, they may feel less of a challenge.
However we are planning to introduce new notorious monsters with more devastating strength and a complete new look in the future. We will give you an update once more details become available so please look forward to it!
May the "Casuals" Vs "Hardcore" war be over.. for now.Greetings, fellow adventurers!

Goodbye, Final Fantasy...
Can't people express their views without the 'opposition' demeaning them? You are completely misrepresenting the issue and you know you are.
No. I didn't. I obviously talked about "Some", and it's rather obvious that some people around here are quite clearly giving the timesink aspect of old-style nm hunting a higher priority than any kind of challenge.

Thank you devs!
LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.
(Marvelous economics IQ test!)
Hey Gildrein, first of all thank you for your reply to this concern.Greetings, fellow adventurers!

I do agree with some people here about the repop time of those NM. I'm not against allowing people to get some new and cool items in a non so hard way that the old FFXI nm style (leaping lizzy, Valkurm Emperor and so) but it feels really less "epic" when you are able to get drops from NM (which are supposed to be different and way more hard than regular ones) if those NM just repop every 3-5 minutes.
So there is no such effort on getting those items, just you need to be patience and kill them nonstop till you get your new and cool item.
Things could be way different changing just little things. In example, you had maybe to find/craft/quest a trigger item to pop up that NM which makes the whole way to get the item a bit longer/fun/epic but still with a decent rate drop on the item (we are talking about ilvl 35 items it hasn't to be really hard).
Right now you have just to wait at a given spot, and literally kill 20 times in about 1 hour the same mob to get your drop.
I agree that FFXI NM (low gear) way is not the correct one (very time consuming), but this isn't also a good one, What's the point of creating such "special" drops if with absolutely now effort all the server has them?
In the other hand, I really really appreciate what actually are you all doing to try to put this game were it should be. But please, easiest isn't better (at least not always). FFXI was great for a reason. It makes you feel that any little achievement you got there (lvl up, new item, chocobo) was epic and great because in fact you had to put some effort on it. Don't forget that please.
I'm sorry if there is any grammatical errors, I'm not english native neither use it often.
And again, thank you Gildrein![]()

Great post Gildrein and now hopefully the majority wanting a challenge will cool off. However, the hardcore(niche group) probably won't and will just cry more and more. Bring out the warm milk because it's time to put these babies to sleep.Greetings, fellow adventurers!
