Macros?

So in FFXI I was a macro junkie, however I don't see the see the use for them just yet. As far as I can tell,you can't swap gear during combat.

Anyone using macros? For example maybe Swiftcast -> Attack spell or something?

I started t use macros for my BRD since I don't find the gamepad crossbar convenient or intuitive, and it's very much like the macros in FFXI so you shouldn't have a hard time setting them. Only the wait comment differ and in FFXIV you can use time with a comma. Like if your action has a recast of 2.46 you can set the wait to "/wait 2.5". It doesn't seem to work with two digits after the comma. And yes, thankfully, no situational gear and gear swapping in FFXIV.
