Veteran Items sent only once - Question

Hey,

Noticed this footnote on the veteran rewards page (I don't want "story time" responses please, just facts and information.):

"* Bonus items will be sent only once to the corresponding characters on a given service account."

Anyone have insight and further details on this I'm missing? (In reference please to the following questions) >

Questions:

1.Are these attached to your account whereas every new character you make receives the rewards?

2. Or... Are they mailed out to your characters that you have currently when you pay for x days and that's it, new characters don't get them?

3. If.. neither of these are true can only one character receive them?

I could see it being interpreted any of these ways.


XIV exceeded all my expectations, infinitely more so as you progress deeper into the game then what was revealed in the beta. Great job, thanks SE and the entire FF community.

I've never seen a mmorpg send the items to only 1 character or the current existing ones. It's usually once on every and any future characters you make. I also bolded the "s" in characters just to point that out.

Yoshi-p played mmorpgs himself. I highly doubt he wouldn't do this like any other mmorpg.

Agree, I do believe this will most likely be the case and the way that makes the most sense. The wording however and need for a bullet point at all seems odd, albeit SE is the king of making information like this as confusing as possible with multiple interpretations.

"All characters already made, and those created in the future, on the service account will receive the rewards in their mailbox once." Is much clearer in 5 seconds, and I'm not even being paid.

Perhaps my curiosity is coming from the 3 years it took to get Garland Goggles on my main.

Fairly certain they will be like the mog cap and cait sith dolls, as in attached to your account. All characters will get them, regardless of when made, but they will only receive one. Since one bonus is the redo potion, its probably to keep people from going "oops, can you send me another one" once they receive it in the mail and subsequently use it. To keep people from hastily editing willy nilly and begging them if they mess up. You only get one (maybe another at a later sub date, like a 360 days subbed) so make it count.

Yea, I'd still like a rep to respond to this and give us a solid answer. From the moment i subscribe to FFXI 8 years ago, 9 times out of 10 their announcements have be confusing. Clarification would be nice. Also would like them to correct the "wording" they use for the items description and future promotional items that get added.

It means if you sell them, drop them, or consume them you cant get another one. Don't look for Zebras in Central Park, sometimes there's nothing between the lines but empty space. #mixedmetaphors

Every char you have and every char you make in future will have an email from SE with the items enclosed. If you drop the items you can never get them back on that char, they are also non-transferable so you only have 1 chance to obtain them on that character.
