The only downside with this is when you are in party of 8 and have to quick count that the person is 5th, 6th or 7th on the list.
Think I'll be quicker to hit it with mouse click and the number on the task bar![]()
Here is a post I did on the subject:I have a Razer Black Widow Keyboard with the M1-M5 buttons and I am curious how you have those keys setup in regards to your pet and how you have any other pet abilities macro'd thru hardware macros as I also have a Razer Naga mouse. Would be a great help to me if you would be so kind. Thanks in advance. =)
Example:
Desired Macro:
/micon Embrace
/ac Embrace <mo>
/ac Embrace <t>
/Recasted Embrace (Shows CD timer for the ability on your chat that only you can see)
Keybind Ex. 1: Keybind Embrace = W
Keybind Ex. 2: Targeting Macro = shift + ] (to keep it out of reach with regular hand strokes since we will not be actually pressing this key)
Create desired Target Macro.
Hardware Keybind Macro key 1: W --> Shift +]
MAGIC HAS HAPPENED
I have bound keys R, F, C, and V to target Self, 2nd member, 3rd member, and 4th member respectively. I also manually change order of party at start of dungeon so the tank is always key F. This allows me to change party members and heal without ever moving the mouse or having my fingers leave the home row (I hate the function keys since they are so out of the way). After a while it becomes second nature where you cast a spell, change the target to a a new target while the previous spell is casting so you are immediately ready to go with your new spell.
If you have 8 members, then other healer is Shift+R and other tank (if there is one) is Shift+F. I also have a Logitech mouse with 8 buttons (all mapped to number keys). So fingers are always 1-2 keys within WASD and all commands are combinations of 1-6 (on mouse buttons) with and without shift, control, and alt. Very movement efficient.

Point is, this doesn't really help much, sadly
The only real advantage in making hardware macros for the fairy would be to press "Steady" as soon as her casts are done so she avoids blowing all other cooldowns...and unfortunately this is pretty much impossible since you have to time it perfectly - which is not doable at all due to to even a few ms of latency.
This doesnt work for me. HELP!What I use in boss fights as healer or caster to make dodging mechanics easier for me might be useful for you:
/ac "sprint" <me>
/wait 28.0
/ac "sprint" <me>
/wait 28.0
/ac "sprint" <me>
/wait 28.0
/ac "sprint" <me>
/wait 28.0
/ac "sprint" <me>
/wait 28.0
/ac "sprint" <me>
/wait 28.0
/ac "sprint" <me>
/wait 28.0
/em press sprint again
Oh man I guess I gotta use macros to become pro!
I disagree, in most cases I believe that a lot Healers are bad healers because they rely to heavily on macros to begin with.
Simple macros are win, long drawn out macro's with wait timers and all the rest are a liability due to peoples human nature side of them thinking they need to wait for the macro to play out rather then interrupting it for something on the fly to be more adaptive to what is happening real time.
I can't for the life of me get a stoneskin/protect macro to work for me, tried to do two separate macro's for 1-4 and 5-8 and it keeps skipping people with a wait of 3 but meh, I got no problem selecting them individually
