I've actually done something very similar to that in other games. Some PuG players are really bad, and in cases where letting them die (my preferred solution) isn't an option, harassing them sometimes works.Maybe healers should also make macros that say "Derp, please stop standing in the red shapes on the ground"
You could make several macros:
/p <1>, please stop standing in teh red shapes on teh groud"
/p <2>, please stop standing in teh red shapes on teh groud"
/p <3>, please stop standing in teh red shapes on teh groud"

I'm not suggesting messaging nonstop or spamming chat telling people to do their job, just communicating with my team to help if/when there is a lot going on. Personally, I think that we're less likely to wipe that way. If the tank is having difficulty holding hate or is rushing into too many mobs to handle then that can be sorted between fights, of course.
These have all been super helpful! I really hope pet macros get figured out/added to the game soon.
I didn't notice this mentioned yet, but I stumbled upon the fact that /ac "Physick" <pet> cures your pets. Just thought i'd add my two cents in here.
If there's a lot going on I doubt people are going to be watching and reading the chat window. And chances are, if communication is needed, then it is a difficult encounter and there won't be time to read the chat window even if you wanted to communicate that way. Hence voicechat.I'm not suggesting messaging nonstop or spamming chat telling people to do their job, just communicating with my team to help if/when there is a lot going on. Good luck getting everyone to stand still long enough to get all of that on. Also you can't apply those buffs to people who are watching cutscenes.
Wow. I definitely will be adding this onto my Scholar's hotkeys. Thank you so much![]()
I just wanted to say that this thread has been extremely helpful and I appreciate it.
It was taking forever to get a spot in Sastasha with my main class, Arcanist; so, I decided I would level up my Conjurer class so that I could queue as a healer. Lo and behold, no wait times! I actually really enjoyed the role and went on to do the same thing for Tam Tara. I think I may be in love with this role… The macro info here really helped me be able to do put DoT effects on enemies in between healing, which was a lifesaver in my first Sastasha run, as the tank suddenly disappeared at the end boss fight. Thankfully, my DPSs were Arcanist, so one of their carbuncles could tank!
Anyway, thanks again for showing me the utility of macros. They make it much easier to do my job during especially frantic battles.
SCH Healing Macros:
Update1: Removed all /ac "ability name" <me> as it wasted a lot of time and mana when out ranging spell targets. Solution was to keybind a button with self cast which I found to be much more efficient and forgiving.
Update2: Best way to Micro manage pet abilites at the moment is with hardware macros in devices such as Razer, or the Gseries Logitech devices. They let a player keybind 2 keys to one macro key thus providing the same effect in game as pressing an in game macro.
Where did you see an option for self cast? I see self targeting (f1 etc) but nothing for self casting.
I've been using the macro for protect and stoneskin on all 4 party members at the start of the instance, but it stops after the second stoneskin every time. Any idea why?
