    NO NEED TO "SHOUT" ...

It's part of the main story quests - you'll do "----- Envoy", ...*, then select which Grand Company to join. One of the first GC quests is to obtain the Chocobo Issuanace which can be purchase from your company for 2000 company seals which you'll obtain by doing both GC leve quests as well as FATEs.

    EDIT:
    * There are some more story quests in between but it will in the end lead to joining GC and being able to obtain a "company vehicle"

If you have a mount already from a CE you may use it at lvl 1.

Incorrect, you cannot use any mounts until you obtain a company chocobo, there is no actual level requirement on calling the mount, only the quest if you didn't already have one from 1.0.

    I seriously doubt that:

It's also not quite so simple as just saying 'get level 20 and a chocobo' - and you can't join a Grand Company to get one just by completing the level 15 'envoy' quest (if you try signing up at a Grand Company they just laugh and tell you to come back when you've 'proven yourself' - this means you have to be more advanced in the storyline, namely:

    - Complete the first three instanced dungeons (Satasha, Tam Tara Deepcroft and Copperbell Mines)
    - Do the easy solo fight against the thugs in Ul'dah (which occurs after you head back to Ul'dah upon completing the three dungeons)
    - Join up with the Scions of the Seventh Dawn in Vesper Bay
    - Undertake the Scions series of quests which ultimately lead you to the level 20 instanced fight against Ifrit.

Only by defeating Ifrit will a Grand Company allow you to sign on with them.

After doing all that, you just have to do FATEs to get 2000 seals, and then just buy the chocobo whistle. Doing so will then unlock all other mounts.

Convoluted I know, but that's how it is (it's shades of all the rigmarole players had to go through in FFXI to ride an airship/chocobos).

I did indeed oversimplified the "chain of events" - I've added the Edit comment now to my original post to avoid any confusion ...
