Level 32 archer, glad you're enjoying the game. You can't say with certainty that they lost a potential customer because those who bought the game will try to play it regardless of issues during the first few days of launch. The ones who returns the game due to these issues are the ones that probably wouldn't have lasted long in an MMO anyways. zenmetsu is a legacy player with a level 50 and he's saying stuff like "with zero possibility of jumping on the same server that you play on". They only lock the servers temporarily throughout the day to maintain server stability. My friends were able to get on Excalibur just fine after trying again a few hours later.
You clearly don't understand the term potential. Any one who got a refund, was a POTENTIAL customer lost period. Everyone who was deterred by customer service, or poor communication or even the (unfair) metacritic score that is as low as it is thanks to the server issues, is a potential customer lost. The fact that such sites as IGN and other gaming sites can't provide video or coverage thanks to the server issues is a potential customer lost. This is a big deal believe it or not. Also not everyone has the time to try again in a few hours. Some people actually work, or have other obligations, and currently squares giving them the equivalent of the middle finger.

Its bad business practice, plain and simple, and i hope for their sake that they can rectify it.
