Final Fantasy 14 causing PC to Randomly shut off

Ever since beta phase 3 test 1. Final Fantasy XIV has caused my pc to turn itself off at random intervals. When early release started this problem was gone. I was able to play all day with no problems at all. But ever since the maintnence last night, august 25th, the problem has returned. I very much wish to play this game, I have been for a couple years now since 1.0. But I fear this problem could cause hardware damage to my system. I built this pc myself and I know it is not a hardware issue on my part. I play WoW, Rift, Tera, etc and have no problems. Only with FFXIV. My Graphics card and Processors temps are in the 60's max. so well in the safe zone. And on the beta technical forums dozens of others were having this issue as well. Is there anything I can do on my side of things to resolve this so I can play safely and normally? Or do I just need to wait this out for you guys to fix it again on your end?

Did you try to overclock anything? if so reverse anything that you may have overclocked to troubleshoot. If you haven't done any of this, you need to run a memory test and cpu test to see if both are running fine. If they comeback with errors you need to replace which ever is having problems.

If it's none of this is the problem........ then it's a SE problem.

Comp will shut itself off like that if you're drawing more power than the power supply can handle.

Is Windows able to leave anything in the event log when it occurs? If it was a crash it might, if it's the PSU Windows wont get the chance.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I've had this problem before and it was a bad PSU.

My computer is doing the same thing, my computer is running 2 radeon 7970's in crossfire, with a 1000w PSU. I've ran power and memorry test and everything clears fine, but when im running arround water in the game my computer will crash and completely reboot, it appears that this just started today for some reason.

The actual error I get is "Performance power management features on processor 4 in group 0 are disabled due to a firmware problem. Check with the computer manufacturer for updated firmware." for all 8 of my processor cores in windows logging. This just started again yesterday. It began in beta test 3. And it only ever happens when I'm playing FFXIV. No other games or movies and such.

I too am suffering with this problem, and I strongly doubt it's my PSU, I have an OCZ StealthXtreme2 700w which is by no means a poor PSU

I'm testing something out now, i'll post more if it works. I'm going to disable my processors power saver setting in the bios.

-EDIT It did not work. I was good for about 3 and a half hours then my pc shut off again. Failed attempt.
