So I've done this, and whenever I go into config in the game, it still only reads HD4600. I cant change itThe funny thing with nVidia Optimus is that the integrated Intel graphics and nVidia Optimus are one together. Unlike desktop counterpart where you can disable Intel HD graphics, on Optimus (laptops) there's no such option.
I am able to get mine to use nVidia GT730M (with Intel HD4000). What I did is on NVIDIA Control Panel, 3D Settings > Manage 3D setting > Program Settings (tab) > Add > Browse > find the folder where FFXIII ARR installed > Add Current Folder, and make sure to select "High-performance NVIDIA processor" in the dropdown after you have added the folder.
Edit: If you have launched the game previously, when you clicked "Add" you should be presented with a list of programs and you should be able to find FFXIV ARR in there too.![]()
