Nope not when I went through hell of a launch the last time this game was released..... It should never take a week to get more servers... GW2 went from 16 to 25 in 1 evening on launch day
I think we can mostly agree that they made an amazing game from what we have seen.. but you definitely don't use a "Doggie door" as an entrance to Buckingham Palace or the Taj Mahal ! Doesn't matter how incredibly beautiful it is on the inside, if the entrance is too tiny for folks to enter to actually SEE it.. then what's the point? And they only made the door smaller as time passed..
It's about time SE woke up .. too bad they didn't realize their folly a week ago. I have my 30 days free trial.. and am definitely going to wait and see if things improve before throwing more money at these guys.
im expecting the login restrictions to be lifted after tonight's emergency maintenance, so the servers can actually fill to capacity, and give majority of players a week of play before the increase the capacity on the servers for NA next week. I believe that JP servers actually have it slightly worse with most people seeing long que times because the servers are actually full unlike N/A servers.
Usually N/A data centers have larger server capacities than over seas servers as iv seen with how nintendo runs their n/a servers compared to their jp servers. Something like 10:1. Probably the reason why we can get away with a a smaller number of servers for a larger population of people.
However even if we increase the number of servers or even the capacity of the servers, as long as the login restrictions are in place, everyone will still receive 1017 errors.
I've been upset among everyone else and from what I've noticed square had no idea it would get this many players.. open beta 4 they got a taste however not everyone trying to get on now was in that. I've seen numbers fly around but supposedly more than 150k where in beta 4 so I'd guess 200k...we had 3102,90k,1017, and bad que system then so obviously they didn't even expect 200k at once during beta. A week goes by and they make some upgrades...I've seen that early access had at least 800k and launch over a million easily.... the leaps in users in a small time frame like that are insane...all trying to log in at once
and yes they could have gone off preorders but with new servers, graphics..etc they didn't know how much stress the server could take and beta 4 wasn't enough....

BUMP BUMP BUMP I KNEW THEY LOVED US!!!
Their incompetence is staggering. How in the world could they've not been better prepared. V 1.0 was an utter disaster and one would think that they would have a Plan B ready if something went wrong on thr re-launch, but no apparantly not...GoW 2 and TSW surtainly had more servers up within 24 hours. I hope people get fired cause of this, I want my pound of flesh.
You have every right to be upset, its not like this is a time where you can say "oh thats alright!" and give them a pat on the back and a A for effort. I mean yeah good job SE on the game, but following through on delivery is no easy task. I'm upset that this is happening like everyone else, but i'm cheering for SE to make a goodI've been upset among everyone else and from what I've noticed square had no idea it would get this many players.. open beta 4 they got a taste however not everyone trying to get on now was in that. and quicker decision on implementing their solutions. I pray they find the strength to carry through their work that is ahead of them and not loose sight on doing us justice because some people are actually hoping that they fail and the dev team's hard works goes to shambles because they couldn't play a game at launch.
I understand the frustrations, but IMO there is a limit to how much hate and rage you can express to the point where it does nobody any good including the victim.
Exactly... imperfect people make imperfect products and due to that shit happens... Unfortunately for them a lot of shit happened however we all can sleep well knowing they actually are fixing itYou have every right to be upset, its not like this is a time where you can say "oh thats alright!" and give them a pat on the back and a A for effort. Player
More cheese to string us along. They also said that they fixed the issues from Beta 4 so the game would be playable by all in EA and we know that wasn't true. I'm not believing anything until I see it and I probably won't be around to see it if something isn't done within the next day or two to offer some relief to this horrid launch.
I did not pay to WAIT to play the game. I paid to PLAY.
