We are now paying customers, so when can the service be used?

they do but thats not getting a product at all. do you know the average game cost $60 dollars and you only get maybe 30-40 hours of content. your getting way more then that here... way damn more

People don't value gameplay -- or their time -- the same way.

There are thousands of games that cost absolutely nothing in dollar terms. If the value of a purchase is measured in "hours per dollar" as you suggest, FFXIV:ARR is a colossal rip-off.

There is a "reasoning" behind people raging like that, because well at the end of the day they paid. But there should be a limit to overreaction. I admit I was irritated by some events pre and post launch but tbh they are trying and the launch has been relative ok (imo). In any case people should calm down because this game is wonderful and as everyone knows games like this will be based on its community... so lets try to be a decent one.

This is close to how I feel about the subject. Yes people have valid complains but if you approach the subject with a calm mind and a bit of self control I guarantee the Devs will want to respond faster to the problem. Stop beating your chest and giving ultimatums. Neither I nor anyone else done their best work with someone screaming at them. To the so called white knights please stop trying to invalidate these complaints. Yes people are angry. You are inflaming the problem. Please just try to remind your fellow gamers that yes I understand you are angry and have the right to be so. Then ask them to show restrain in asking for help with this problem because you still catch more flies with honey then you do vinegar. Good will goes a long way all from all sides of this problem. I just ask that we all treat everyone else here how we would like to be treated if the roles were reversed.

Saying that does not mean approving it, but accepting it as a fact. If you think that SE want to lose money from a title launch so much awaited then I fold...

You bet your arse I am angry. This is not launch "hiccups", this is flat out choking. I have never had an MMO ever where I was denied being able to play for days. Yes I have experienced frustrating "hiccups", but never outright denial of service for days. Level 4 in 3 days, that is how long I was able to play this game....I am level 4. I could not even log in this morning before work for 20 minutes because of maintenance lol. The only time of day I have a chance....denied again. It is a joke at this point.

Yes you are correct, new MMO's have small hiccups...But this is not a hiccup, this a full blown heart attack and when rigor mortis happens it tends to smell.

You amaze me with your inability to realize you are dealing with other people. People are not an outlet for your angry. I always stay clam and honestly I am the person who gets faster and friendlier service where ever I shop. You are the one they make wait an hour while "They figure out the problem". I live in the real world and I can actually see screaming at the Starbucks employ doesn't improve the rate at which you get your coffee.
