I too am unhappy with the way things are and agree with the OP's sentiments. I came home from work and spent about an hour sitting at the keyboard attempting to log in. The only way to get into the game is to spam the launcher and hope for a queue, I am certain part of the issue is people knowing if they log they may not get back in, so they don't log. The other part is SE letting too many people make charactors in the first place and not adding many more servers to handle the load.
SE, you need to let us know how you intend to enable your subscriber's to play this game. Keeping quiet only enrages people more .....
Even at JP prime time (if I'm not mistaken) it is NA/EU who can't get the server list... *sigh*
They have stopped selling digital copies of the game now according to their home-page. But I guess it's normal and expected at every MMO launches and just a hiccup...or is it?
I can understand being annoyed about not being able to log in, yes there should be a better que system - its there its just bad.
But as a few others have said, it has never taken me more than 15min to log in and once you are in the game is great.
People have the right to complain about anything they want, and people have the right to defend anything they want.
Are you American playing on NA servers? I'm just curious as I don't have the same experience as a European player. As of yet I haven't been allowed to create a character on a European server...I can understand being annoyed about not being able to log in, yes there should be a better que system - its there its just bad.

Yes American here on the NA servers, and honestly couldn't even attempt to figure out why some like myself can get in relatively quickly and others can't.
Ohh I completely agree. The queue and lack of a afk timeout very much should have been addressed by now. But people claiming to have some sort of legal knowledge that they clearly don't is something that really needs to be shot down. Armchair lawyers can bring no good to anyone.I can understand being annoyed about not being able to log in, yes there should be a better que system - its there its just bad.

Jeez, why does everyone list this as a damn excuse? Tell me, what other mmo has just *failed* to work for 2 years?I'm not sure what your intention is with this thread. It is a known issue. To vent here is akin to pandering, and only serves to color you as one of the few that this game will benefit from -not- having around.
Consider these facts:
- Launches are historically flawed.
- - This is an "acceptable" practice in this field. Mainly because "Launch" server capacity isn't indicative of -actual- capacity (say, a few months down the road). As this is as much a business model as it is an entertainment platform, there is more of a focus on long-term server stability, as opposed to short-term stability.
- - Consider a "return-on-investment" mindset. Should we spend a relatively large sum of money on a short-term fix; only to be stuck with that overhead once the flood has receded? - Or, should we focus those resources on long-term stability, development, etc.?
These posts are similar to a child screaming, "I want it NOW!" Please, be more constructive.
NOT A LAUNCH; A RE-LAUNCH. TWO YEARS TO GET THIS RIGHT. TWO YEARS.
