    FXAA is to resource intensive.

as the titles states its rather intensive for something that's supposed to be light on resources. with it off i get a constant 60FPS in dungeons and low pop area's. with it on I'm constantly dipping back and forth between 60 and the low twenty's with something as simple as panning the camera.

Are there any planes to enable MSAA in the future? if any one has been able to force MSAA.Id like to know with what program(s) as Nvidia's Control Applet doesn't seem work.

    Specification:
    GTX760 4GB
    AMD Phenom 2 975@4GHz
    8GB Ram.

How are you having a problem

I have a AMD FX 8120, 16 gigs of ram and a gtx 760 2 gig and i have no problems at all...maybe your power supply isnt up to par for the vid card.

Not SE, however FF14 appears to be a deferred rendering engine based game and is DirectX9? (I could be wrong) which dosn't support MSAA. You could attempt to enable Supersampling in the Nvidia control panel but I don't think that will work and it would most likely perform worse then with FXAA.

Another option (and this one is risky) is to use SweetFX and inject SMAA (Not quite as good as FXAA but will clean up the edges nicely). http://ffxivrealm.com/threads/enhanc...-visuals.1385/

To note though that injection will most likely trigger any anti-cheat system (if they have one) they have implemented as it forcefully overrides some basic functions.

What I would recommend though if you are just pushing the bounds is disabling SSAO (this will be hardly noticeable after a bit and is extremely costly however on my machine yielded a 30fps increase while off and using low yielded a 25fps increase) and disabling Limb Darkening (Although disabling it on my machine yielded little to no perf. change). Also make sure that you have Occlusion Culling and LOD + LOD Streaming enabled as these will provide large FPS increases on GPU restricted machines.

If possible profile your machine with GPU-Z (http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/) and post the results and we can see where your machine is struggling at.

Edit: To note I am using a GTX680 and average about 105 fps with everything on and I tested while sitting in the character inn-room at the table with camera facing the window.

    Full Specs --
    i7-2700k @ 3.8Ghz
    8Gigs DDR3 @ 1600mhz
    GTX680 w/Boosted rates @ 1Ghz and 2GB VRAM
    Win7 64-bit

    Config --
    HDR (On)
    Occlusion Culling (On)
    FXAA (On)
    Lighting (High)
Grass (Off) *Personal preference choice as their grass textures are terrible
    Map Resolution (High)
    Shadows (All On)
Shadow LOD (Off) *Didn't notice a perf. change
    Shadow Res. (High)
    Shadow Cascading (Best)
Shadow Softening (Strong) *Lowering did increase fps but only by like 3 fps
    Texture Filtering (AF x16)
    Physics (All On)
    Limb Darkening (Off) *Personal preference
Radial Blur (On) *Appears to affect explosions and nothing else?
SSAO (Weak) *Honestly weak looks better then Strong
Glare (Normal) *Didn't notice a difference between Normal and Low but I worry it might affect spells
Depth of Field (Enabled) *Haven't noticed it in Cinematics
