Balmung is the same way. I wonder if they simply shut off logins altogether. Has ANYONE been able to log in at all these past few hours?

Nope. Got home from work about two hours ago, and nothing. I expected as much, but I was able to get in with some effort yesterday. My hunch is it's completely cut-off for the time being.

Same, I have not been able to get in since I got home from my evening class and that was 7pm eastern. So I am going on three and a half hours of 1017 every time I try to log in.

They just did. (scheduled a maintenance at least, dunno about server capacity)

Never thought I'd be happy to see maintenance, but that will at least dump all the AFK'ers.

The maintenance isn't due for another couple of hours and by the time it happens, many of us will be either sleeping or busy with other things. It'll be flooded by AFKers again eventually, so I'd hardly call that a solution. At all.

How could they underestimate the number of players when they knew how many people pre-ordered the game? They had weeks to prepare the infrastructure. What was the purpose of Phase 4 again?

Who said it was a solution? Obviously something needs to happen for the long term, but at least I know I can stop trying to mash through 1017 for a while and try again tomorrow morning when the servers are clear.
