INSTALL AN AFK KICK. 30 mins to 1 hour would be nice so that more than afk/farming bots and inconsiderate other people can play.

would be great if they could give at least some information when they do this maintenance, specially so we know if we should be hopping this issue to be fixed by now or if they are doing something completely unrelated >.<

since it is all servers maintenance i do hope it is to upgrade their hardware though..

Seeing as the whole game is going down for maintenance the night of the same day it launched with such short notice, I think it's a fair bet that the downtime is to do something about the server situation.

Like you all, I wanted to play this game, and I got to for a little while before logging out and not being able to log back in; but that's alright with me. I'm patient and I knew, realistically, if Square enix wanted my subscription money they'd fix this in a timely manner.

Some of you may argue that 13-14 hours after launch (even longer for those with early access but lets use the official LAUNCH as the point of reference) is far too long for an issue that should have been made apparent by the beta phases; this is true. But don't think for one paranoid second that square enix is content to take the 29.99 for the game and just leave us with a broken product when they could be getting more money every month, as well as a better public rep here in the west.

Was it annoying? heck yeah. But was it a deal breaker? nope. Stuff happens. It was inconvenient but they'll fix it, and when I do I hope to play aside you all in game. Rather than yell at SE for what happened, why not show them that we WANT to play the game, and that we really hope they can solve this for us so we can jump in and adventure together? Let's be supportive, guys!

Also, its probably happening this late because SE is a company based in Japan, and their time zones are crazy different than ours. Again, inconvenient but not unexpected.

Anyway, positive rant over. Hoping to see this get fixed and I want forum goers to know that at least one of us isn't angry; just thirsty for more fun

IMO they are taking servers down at the same time as a couple nights ago when they had to fix the 3102 issue (because it's off-peak time in the US). Since they have no information regarding what the maintenance is for I believe they are doing this to remove the AFK players and free up the worlds for the next day so new players can log in... AKA binding themselves more time to fix the issue. Also note that the thread's title says "Emergency Maintenance" and in the thread itself it is just referred to as simply maintenance with no additional info.

I can only assume that since it's all worlds that has something to do with the log in issues but I'd be an idiot if I didn't at least consider they might just be fixing a bug.....a 3 hour fix for a simple bug would make sense....

Just got off work and game says servers are full you guys say maintenance and lodestone says time is from 12 - 3 am pdt .... I'm confused

You know, honestly, if they're really too lazy to install a proper queue system or AFK kicker, at least until we hopefully get those new servers, I wouldn't mind having 'emergency maintenance' once every 3-4 hours. Like a nice enema for the server.
