I would also like to encourage EVERYONE who sees this situation (all the restrictions and lack of communication on launch day) as a problem to post there concerns and feedback.

I also hope the dev team can truly understand the feedback and take it seriously.

Try to be respectful guys. He's put a lot of time, creativity, and effort into this project... let's try to be mindful of that. Not trying to pole jockey or anything, but at times it's been very evidentin interviews that the guy has been put through the wringer on this project. Need to be mindful of the cultural differences at play here... they don't typically respond well to our bold b!tchyness.

On the other hand, pretty much every single problem we are having can be traced back to an administrative decision(or a technical decision made by non-technical people). *shrug

I've been trying to get on and play since EA and haven't been able to get on once.

I was pretty honest. It is a beautiful game ... but we can't get to it. None of the beauty will matter if we can't get to it. This little maelstrom was so unnecessary and avoidable.

"I would've liked to be able to thank the team behind FFXIV:ARR but i haven't been able to log enough online time to make a decision as to whether I intend to continue to play or not. I'm willing to understand problems with launch and unexpected traffic/lag/crashes. After all users are going to find things in the program that the devs couldn't've possibly predicted. What I was very disappointed with was the lack of communication and respect for the players. There were preorders and yet the servers provided for NA/EU couldn't even handle the early access players so I don't know how they were expected to handle everyone that was going to get the game at launch or later. And then when the early access and launch days were plagued with the now infamous error 1017 what responses did we get? Only descriptions of which servers were locked for character creation. We didn't get any information about potential new servers (and if our characters on currently overcrowded servers would be offered free migration at that point), or if the queue server was being upgraded so it wasn't just luck of the draw and you could reliably get into a queue at least, or even any information about what (if anything) was going on behind the scenes to address these problems. Basically the impression that many of us in NA/EU got is that SE didn't care about us and that they even potentially purposefully underprovided servers in anticipation of the exodus that can understandably be expected in the first 6 months. I will add that what I did get to play of the game was enjoyable and visually stunning, but considering I didn't get very far in the game if these issues don't get resolved soon I have no intention of subscribing when it comes time for that."

My hope is that he and SE will listen to some level headed responses.. here's mine:

Mister Yoshida, you have relaunched a wonderful game. In the few hours I've played, I'm already hooked.

However, the lack of any communication about the myriad errors and lockouts on launch day of all days leaves me feeling left out in the cold.

I love the game that you've made, but the service has fallen so far short of any reasonable expectations that I'm not sure I can justify giving Square Enix my subscription for this game for very long, and I know I am one of the least angry people about all of this - I'm sure you have lost many customers because this launch has fallen flat in many ways, and I know that's not what either of us want. I want your game to flourish just as much as you do!

Please, I beg of you, give your customers more communication. All we ask for is that our questions are answered in the form of stickies on forums or messages on the website. With no communication, we get the impression that you just don't care, and that's not a trait anyone wants to buy.

The game is marvelous, but please - you must fix this before it gets completely out of control.
