The worst account registration process

SE, has always had bad account registration/management. But how, after so many years of experience, can it still be THIS bad? I applied a ARR code to my account, and it overwrote my 1.0 account, EXCEPT for the free game time. It has me as only getting 14 days of game time rather than the 30. Seriously... you would almost think it would have to be on purpose to be this bad...

The 30 days free trial is only for new accounts. Are you using the code on a different account than your 1.0?

I bought a NEW copy of the game, and added it to my 1.0 account. Thinking that I could log into it on more than one PC (the description in beta was vague at best). It seems I should have just created a new account, and registered my new copy on that account. I should have known better...

The 30 day free trial isn't for new games, it's for new accounts. 1.0 players get an extended free period before they have to pay but only new account members get the 30 day free trial.

What do you mean? A 18 character code to get a 20 character region-locked code that's required to create a service account that requires another 20 character region-locked code seems perfectly normal to me.

If you have a 1.0 account you can't add a new pc code to that service account, this was stated almost a month ago. If you wanted the 30 days you needed to buy a ps3 version. You didn't have to buy the game again they gave it to you for free.

I bought it for early access, also, when I bought the game it says 30 days free game time. So it sounds like I'm going to just have to ask for a refund for the new CE that I bought... Seriously, how stupid is it that SE wouldn't give me 30 days free game time since I bought 1.0. If anything they should give me more free time since I bought both CEs. And where exactly was it stated? Was it stated on the site that I bought the game from?

And what tops it all off, is that inability to contact ANYONE. I spent over 2 hours on hold with their phone line that you can't even find unless you do a google search. And I emailed about this problem on day one of the EA because it didn't show my original copy of the game on my account, just the new one I registered. I searched Final Fantasy 14 on google and it's just a ton of stories about early access problems, which will become launch problems. Is it too late to say this game is going down in flames already? I had planned on playing the game with my wife and sister, and maybe my brother, but now I'll be telling them to hold off on purchasing the game. How much total business do you suppose SE has already lost because of all these problems?

People expect 30 days. And when they find out they are given something different like two weeks, people are confused and get angry. And the last thing a company needs is angry confused customers ready to call the bank and redact the credit or debit transaction.

The customer is always right in these situations. Which is why it should be 30 days for everyone.
