What's the point of the 4/8 person party buffs?

What are the point of these buffs? I'm not really understanding them, does this mean we'll never get actual buffer classes in this game? Sigh if so, I really loved bard and playing it. If it doesn't mean that, then why is it being added? Just something fun and cool? Or a real meaning?

Yeah I assumed it was going to make the 5 man parties give a bigger buff than the 8 man parties, but the 8 man parties buff is bigger? o_O; I don't get it at all. And how does this encourage you to group more? The game is already easy enough, now it's even easier? @_@; I'm really confused at this change.

You get a 5% buff from 4-7 players and a 10% buff for 8 players.
