A Relic Reborn Walkthrough

First thing is first, for PLD you require two Battledance Materia III melded with the scimitar.

Second, I am a first time FFXIV player on a non-legacy server. I've hit 50 and have this quest now but have encountered a problem. I have had no indication or direction to The Wanderer's Palace, nor do I have any such thing in my duty finder. Is there some kind of quest that you have to get to in order to unlock this? I am to the point where I can do Ifrit (hard) and Amdapor Keep (from GC). What am I missing here?

Hey mate. I either got the quest for Wanderer's Palace in Vesper Bay, or Outer La Noscea.
Try checking either of them.

From what I know. You can still have someone else craft the weapon for you.

So.... I have the Picatrix of Casting needed for it but I don't have the Savage Might... Anyone know what I can break down to get them? I'd prefer not spending 40k on one materia from AH.

Wanderer's Palace

Got the items (we got MNK and WHM items) in a coffer there.

Be careful !! the item isn't in the need/greed/pass, and is given randomly to someone. i've got lucky that the guys who got it was on the same server as me and gave it to me after the dungeon.

A few questions:

1) are the fights doable in AF gear? (in terms of Healer and DPS)
2) If I want the SMN Relic and I do the fights as WHM, Will I still be able to advance?
3) are the drops guaranteed to drop?
4) If #1 is undoable, which dungeon is good to farm the tomestones needed? and about how long will it take to get a full set?

1. You will be fine in AF up to and including Ifrit Hard. Garuda you will struggle and Titan you will struggle even more as it's a damn hard fight. While it's possible in theory I'd recommend you at least get some Darklight.

2. For most stages you need to be on the job you're completing a relic on.

3. Aside from the crafting items in Wanderer's Palace, yes.

4. Ampador Keep is by far the quickest way to farm tomes. If you speed run it (which may or may not be "fixed" in the future) you can run the whole instance in under 20 mins with a good group. This also drops both types of tomes.
