Very much so. But then there are those people who actually went through and completed the relic quest fully in 1.0. They kind of have both sides of it. They have the frustration that what they went through is now so easy, but also the pride in that they were able to accomplish it when it was a lot ... lot .... lot harder.

Harder? or more like more boring and tedious?. Doing Hamlets was not hard just boring, and the drop rate horrible. Spiritbonding the Unfinished while solo? was it hard? nope, just and incredible boring time sink.

I like what they did with Relic, they stripped the obvious timesinks that did not require skill, but lots of free time and luck, and replaced them with Fun Content that do require skill to do it.

i am currently up to Obtain Alumina salt from dhorme chimera at the weeping saint,

i have joint a group and we have defeated chimera, but it seems like i didnt get alumina salt, is it 100% drop?

or do i have to go kill it as the job that activated the quest....?

You have to kill it as the class the relic quest is for.

Dhorme Chimera is killing me. I attempted it last night for 4 hours straight with PUGs. I was on PLD, kept hate, rotated def buffs, dodged front cone attack. All except one WHM throughout the entire evening were just not able to dodge the ice circle attack. I had the camera fully zoomed out to watch it over and over. Is this normal??

Watched Flash Gordon's video and the ranged members were further back while a PLD OT stunned voices. We had all members on hind legs, in between tail whip area and side attack. It's a bit unclear as the WAR is taking the video. Question is, would alternating Shield Bash and Spirits Within for every voice move prevent resists? OR are we better off with 2xBRD stuns?

It's really frustrating because it's not really that hard, I wonder if people have bad latency/lag because of the current server configuration or they just don't look for the red area on the floor?

Getting a group for the keep at the moment sucks, everyone wants to just speed run it and get the tokens in under 15 minutes, if you've not run the dungeon already they ask you to leave. How are people to learn this dungeon when the last 4 groups i've joined have asked me to drop cause they only want people who know what happens to run it.
It's like the speed runs of 1.0 all over again.

Simple: lie and say you've done it before.

As long as you don't obviously mess up, they won't really know. The only actual drawback to never having done is if you're doing in there with really bad gear, cause it's a bit of a dps check. If you know the boss mechanics (easy to find online), then you'll be golden and they'll never know you don't know it. Honestly, it's not a hard dungeon, it just requires people to know the fights, and have a certain minimum of gear.

Just wanted to add that if you have beaten the story, you do not need to have beaten Aurum Vale to access Ampadore Keep. you cannot flag the quest in Vesper bay, but if you have cleared the Darkhold, your Grand Company will also give you a quest to clear ampadore keep, which lets you in regardless of whether you have beaten AV or not. (this worked for me in Twin adder, not sure if all GC's give the Keep mission)

Does anyone know if you have to have the Unfinished weapon equiped when fighting/killing the Hydra, or can you equip a better weapon once you're in the instance?

Yes, it clearly states in the quest discription that you need to use the Unfinished relic to defeat the Hydra.
