I am happy to see that the only issue with FFXIV ARR that I have encountered is the 1017 issue that a lot of us are dealing with.

At this point I hope the idea of Server Population Balance has been risen as this is something that is quite typical with MMOs. I hope that the idea of Additional servers and a free transfer service has been considered and discussed. If it hasn't please do so as this the single most common remedy for these sorts of congestion issues.

In the passed four days, I have not encountered a single issue with the content or mechanics of FFXIV: ARR, just congestion issues and I am relieved at this.

Please add more servers and temp free transfer system to balance the NA/EU population.

It keeps getting recommended. I even support that as a resolution.
It's pretty much the only way to really get it fixed.

Problem is nobody has seen any kind of response at all.

I feel like I can curse under my breath and get angry all I want while trying to connect or rant and rave like so many are doing or at least share what I have seen correct this issue in my days of working on the other side of MMOs and hope someone sees it and at the very least consider it. Whether SSE goes with this suggestion or not, I can not but, I rather be constructive and positive during launch times for this magnificent MMO.

Honestly I just want a queue. I don't mind waiting to get in. I have played games where you have had to wait 30-40 mins in a queue to get in at times and its fine because I know I'm in line. With 1017 it's just keep trying and maybe you'll get lucky.

Yeah, I agree, a response would be nice. This is definitely not the worst I've seen a service (whether game or other) experience at launch. I think they've handled it well so far, other than the lack of communication. Yeah the 1017 is annoying and frustrating, but the mechanics seem solid. Give it a few days/weeks and they'll have it worked out I'm sure. FFXI went through a similar scenario, WoW was pretty much unplayable for a month, as well as other MMO's.

I also think more servers with offer of free transfer would be the best option, if not a temporary one until they can stabilize the load balancing.

Believe it or not.....there actually IS a queue. I've seen it twice......but only twice.
The servers are so overloaded that it can't function at that large a scale.

I will also agree with the people talking about an AFK kick feature. There really is no reason not to have it as there is no reason for a player to stay in game unless they are actively playing, chatting, and so on.
