Deleted Character and Can't Recreate

I deleted the character I made last night because I couldn't stand the running animation, but now when I tried to recreate the character, after an hour of hitting the refresh until my friends' server came up, it said I can't have more than one character on that server.

I don't have any characters on that server. How can I fix this?

Restart your client when you get this message. It seems that there is a limited amount of time you can spend in the character creation window, before it triggers that message forcing you to restart your client completely, in order for you to create your character.

I just deleted a character from my server and remade it because I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. I went through the character creation process for about a half hour and now I find that I can't create characters on my realm anymore.
Awesome. Now the name I had picked out is no longer saved either. Sigh.
